Thought its was a league forum, who gives a crap about AFL, goooooo the Iron Chef
There is no guitar called a 'stratcoaster'.
Gallop's screwed a few things up, but considering the near-death experience we had courtesy of Super League, Rugby League has still gone ahead under him.
Sure, not as ahead as some people think we should be, but still ahead.
ffs.
Look at the date of my post.
I'm sick of this all too but i have to disagree with all your points, he has NO control of the NRL, he is more of a spokesperson than a CEO he just gets told what to do, it doesn't matter who is the CEO we will still have the same result, i completely blame the ARL and News, And dont just think its News that are stuffing it up for us i think the ARL are just as bad, if not worse but thats for another thread.I just do not understand how this poorly qualified man escapes any public scrutiny for the deterioration of rugby league since he has taken over.
1)the under selling of the television rights
2)there should be no exclusive radio deal fullstop.
3)The politically correct agenda when dealing with the "image" of the game. The changes to the rules that allow video ref scrutiny that is ruining the rhythm of the game.
The judiciary has lost credibility.
4) is without doubt the most "REACTIVE" man in the history of the job.
a)warning about shoulder charges after Craig Wings hit is oh so typical of his knee jerk persona.
5)he lacks a distinct vision. Where is rugby league going??
6) he lacks the corporate skills to generate further income for the good of the game.
7)blames the mess of super league for punctuation in growth.
8)has had a good go and its time to move on.
f#ck off Dave.
looks like Gould agrees that Gallop has to go.
NOT GALLOP AGAIN IN 2010!!
f**k you're boring.
He's done a decent job, all things considered.
When he does move on, for whatever reason, I hope he gets a nice cushy job as head of CA or something similar where he has fewer fwits embarrassing themselves and fewer media corporations/archaic administrations fighting each other.
Who are you??
Why do you really support David Gallop??
Why do you think he has done a good job when clearly other people have contrasting opinions on his effectiveness?
Are you okay for League to have no cash reserves and a bleak future because the man is in the pockets of Foxtel??
Do you not agree with Goulds summation that new leadership is required if the game is to handle the predicted onslaught from AFL??
As far as being boring,...............
You are absoutely correct.
No argument.
I am a manic street preacher.
But,
I do love League, I hate corruption, I personally think the guy like him or loathe him is 100% the wrong man for the job.
Its the apathy, the head in the sand, she'll be right attitudes of the dullard masses that keep cronies like Gallop in power and I will keep posting on this topic when I see constructive articles like Goulds' in the forefront of the trolling journos who read these forums.
Perhaps, if one of those news limited boys had a conscience they would start writing articles that allude to the real truth of League being screwed into the ground by their boss Rupert Murdoch.
But wait,
he is their boss.
Please keep up the good work Fairfax.
Long term its Murdoch's vision to merge all rugby codes, this has been well known for many years. I dont so much have an issue with that vision, i do however take issue with a media company driving the agenda. The ARL and ARU should be in control of it, and clearly they are adminstrative bodies that have lost their executive power due to TV money.
On the back of that long term goal, i see both codes suffering as there is no real point in growing either at this point. Both forms of the game exist for one reason only and that is to sell Foxtel subscriptions for the east coast market and international filler.
