Id say about 4 weeks ago close to something like 80% of the posters on here said that
PHaC was one of the games great administrators and should be in charge of the NRL.

A month is a long time in football....

I'm not aware PHaC is in charge of coaching the team? I thought we were talking about the ability of a CEO to have vision, confidence in where the organisation is going and the ability to develop and implement a strategy, not get 17 blokes to pass and catch a ball?

Here's the thing.... Rugby League has stablised quite well under Gallop's reign - has he done as well as he could have? Hard to tell....

Would rugby league be in a spectacularly better position if we didn't have Gallop? Marginally better? Maybe - Spectacularly better? No.

All this knobbery about PHaC running the show is laughable.

Rl ain't doning to bad at the moment. Could we be doing better? Probably, but this is hardly a low point....

RL was in a mess when Gallop took over.

Thinking he is incompetent because he hasn't achieved every single high in his tenure, and the inference is someone else could have achieved more.

The game is now stable, with very few external threats and generally all stakeholders are more or less moving in the same direction.

Remember, as much as I admire Quayle (but not the dithering fool arko), he tenure did lead to a number of stakeholders moving into a completely different direction. The differing direction was called Super League.

It is common knowledge that Gallop was integral in palnning the attck on ARL aligned clubs during the Super League war. He was their legal affairs manager and later promoted to Director of Operations. Hi job was to represent the interests of News Ltd and to directly target the ARL aligned clubs and kill them off where possible..he took to this with relish.
He is still paid by News Ltd and represents their interests over and above that of the clubs..he should be moved on forthe good of the game..clubs are being short changed millions because of him.

I read that Murdoch has a plan to merge the Rugby codes well if this is the case I have a battle plan already in mind

1. Pay nothing for S14 and GP rights
2. Pay over and above for the rights to the French Elite 1 the NRL and the Super League
3. Starve RU of it's juniours buy paying squillians to entice all of it's senior talent to RL
4. Remove the ALL Blacks from all new ltd media

That should just about ensure one rugby code within the decade.

Apparently News has a lot of debt to be recovered from the super league war.
I think they will just manage to hold diabolical Dave there until they can negotiate the next deal on television rights.

By then, when they snare another bargain and save themselves over $200 million I think most debts will be repaid and Dave will be given the flick so a real administartor can be brought in.
