NRL chief executive David Gallop, who will hold a special press conference at midday tomorrow to address the issue, said he was disappointed with Williams's decision.
"It is unacceptable to walk out on a contract,'' he said.
"If Sonny Bill Williams has personal issues, we will be happy to discuss them with him but we will support the Bulldogs in enforcing their contract and that includes preventing him from playing other than under that contract.
"Certainly the club, his teammates and the fans are entitled to some explanation for what has happened.''

Simply News Ltd are trying to drive down the value of the game, so come the end of the contract they renew for a bargain basement price.

It's not his fault.

He's a New Ltd puppet. Anyone who thinks he's running the game is a moron. He gets his instructions from higher up.

I agree, but Gallop also took instruction from "higher up" during the Super League war, from the wrong side.

Well that would be because it came about this year and the TV contract was written a few years ago. Next TV deal will no doubt include it.

The Toyota Cup could easily have been not included in the previous deal. The only way it would have been included is if there was a clause that the deal also included any competitions that did not exist at that time.

And now wait for it.........
A mass player exodus to Union because they are underpaid.

Why are players underpaid??
Because the salary cap has to be raised.

Why isnt the cap raised?
Gallop undersold the rights.

 Someone out there is still thinking we should raise the salary cap in an economic climate where sponsors will be harder to come by, and the value of the games broadcast rights might even (gasp) decrease, and while the game's clubs are squealing that they are going to the wall?

Top thinking...
