Rusty's comments have pushed this important issue into the mainstream. Gallop is lucky that major media mouthpieces such as the Daily Telegraph, Nine and 2GB will stick solid with him. Of course there will be others that won't and we need them to cause a racket.

the game was s**t because of SL, it was always going to take a while to recover.

off field stuff hasnt helped.

under his watch weve seen :

1. record crowd average for RL ever in australia
2. increases in TV ratings.
3. entry of gold coast titans playing in a $300 million stadium
4. large increase in NRL corporate revenues of around a few million a year
5. rise in the salary cap and the grant to each club.

however if the next TV deal is a poor one vs AFL, questions need to be asked.

the TV deals are simply poor relative to our ratings dominance.

we deliver higher ratings than AFL and get half the amount of money, thats just wrong

Unfortunately the NSW Cup is being largely ignored and creating a wasteland of players.

that has nothing to do with it

Fox pay production and are showing it for 1 year at no cost to see how it goes

it seems to rate well and has beaten Super 14 games but will no doubt be given away for bugger all

However, the fact that this inept, egotistical news limited lawyer lets marqee players leave the game due to financial constraints that are directly attributed to his questionable TV rights deal...........

ffs, Gallop is is the CEO of the NRL, which is half owned by News ltd & the ARL. What would the sacking of Gallop achieve?
