The real reason Ben Barba is heading north

This is the kind of thing that would never happen at a properly managed club like the Sydney Roosters.

Alcoholics (e.g. Todd Carney) are given three chances, and publicly defecating troublemakers (e.g. Nate Myles) two chances, and if they blow it then they are released.

The current Roosters team is a model of good behavior. Former troublemaker Jake Friend has completely reformed his off field behavior and is playing like a champion. Sonny Bill Williams is a model of hard work and humility. He has transformed the team into a cohesive family of socially responsible people.

I cannot imagine any Roosters player doing what Barba did.

The Cherrington days are long gone.

An article claims that maybe something happened which is perhaps why maybe Barba was on the outs with the club in the first place. They're not saying it actually happened, but they're just going to plant enough seeds, spin enough innuendo and bait enough hooks to grab the uninformed, the uneducated and the naive.

Well played, DT.

Absolute nothing article with no proof of anything. Barba should sue them for defamation.

This is a disappointing article in 2 ways.

1. If this actually didn't happen and the grubs at the Tele have drummed this up out of nowhere, it's a terrible hatchet job on Barba, the Dogs and the Broncos to a lesser extent.

2. If this did actually occur and was covered up by the Dogs as suggested, then this is a sad indictment on the club and also the NRL.

Now I've got nothing but bad things to say about the Welsh banker ruining the game, but how do you figure the NRL are to blame here? Because they didnt do something about an incident they didnt know about?

Surely most people knew about this in February.

If you believed an alcohol and gambling addiction could be overcome in a few short weeks then gullible does not aptly describe you.

As many hinted in February, this was going to surface eventually and it taints Greenburg and the Bulldogs for covering it up and failinv to address the issue.

Surely people wondered why Hasler never publicly supported Barba throughout this fiasco?

And this is the key. If it's untrue I'm sure Barba will take legal action and be nicely compensated. We wait and see.

No need to wait.

Just get Slothfield to ask Greenberg if its true.

He can't really lie about it can he?

Not a good look for Greenberg in his new role if the story is true.

Lmao at all the idiots who can't read. It specifically states that The Bulldogs wanted her to go to the police. How is that covering things up? Please someone answer that question for me

What are The Bulldogs going to do, drag her to the cops against her will?

I don't see what the big issue is here...

If the victim hasn't pressed charges then as far as I'm concerened nothing should come out of it.

I don't like the dogs... But they did what they were supposed to do... encourage the girl to go to the police.

If she won't do that... What are they supposed to do..
