You have Gasnier and Jennings the wrong way around, Uate plays on the right not left, swap bird and gallen around, gidley has to go to the bench for farrah, O'donnel is of to the UK, and Minnichello, even though he is a realy awesome player, has to make way for gidley. I would'nt mind seeing that halves combo actually!

Even with virtually everyone posting a team in here saying Dugan for fullback, I'm willing to bet money the Hayne plane train bullsh*t continues into next year, and Hayne is picked as NSW fullback.
I'm sick of people like you always taking shots at Hayne. he has been NSW best over the last 2 years, carried Parramata from oblivion to a grand final, previous Dally M medalist, Australian rep and has shown the league world moves that you would only see in your dream! If you think he did'nt play well at fb then im sorry, im sorry that he could'nt single handedly win the game by himself, im sorry that he couldnt beat a qld side that they call the greatest ever!

I dunno....
They will likely stick with Hayne, not that I necessarily agree with it.

1. Jarryd Hayne - Eels
2. Josh Dugan - Raiders
3. Jamie Lyon - Manly
4. Mark Gasnier - Dragons
5. Michael Gordon - Panthers
6. Todd Carney - Roosters
7. Mitchell Pearce - Roosters
8. Kade Snowden - Sharks
9. Michael Ennis - Bulldogs
10. Tom Learohyd-Lahrs - Raiders
11. Paul Gallen - Sharks
12. Anthony Watmough - Manly
13. Greg Bird - Titans
14. Kurt Gidley - Knights
15. Luke Lewis - Panthers
16. Tim Mannah - Eels
17. Michael Weyman - Dragons

IMO that's the side I would love to see, with Akuila Uate at 18th man.
Switch Hayne, Dugan or Gordon around as you like, and you have a QLD killer.....

The huge problem with having Hayne, Dugan and Gordon in the same side is that they are all wasted on the wing (although Hayne was man of the series for NSW last year on the wing), however if you figure out which combination works the best (who is fullback, who is left winger, etc) then you have the most devastating back-line in recent memory for NSW....

Numbers dont always represent which side.

Gasnier has always worn number 3.

I'm not saying he's a bad player. I'm saying he's not the rugby league messiah he's constantly presented as in the media.

Have no issue with him on the wing.

He's still one of the best players in the world, but the thing is that he attracts crowds and young fans to the game like no other player before him. That is something no other player has, which is a shame; ask any young kid who they idolise, 90% of the time it's Jarryd Hayne.

The media blow-up ticks me off as much as you, but what people have to realise is that it is good for our game and boosts our ticket sales and gives the game a good rep when he is playing well; you can ask anyone in Australia, they will know who Jarryd Hayne is even if they don't watch Rugby League.

Even if people don't like him as a player, I think they should take into account just how valuable he is to RL as a whole, he's close to being the most popular and well known sporting icon in Australia.

Well Mack Kidley is the auto 14 for Australia so shouldn't he get his spot in the NSW automatically as well?

Kidley is just a good a lock as any other position so I don't understand all the hate. If anything Kidley should just start at hooker.

He is a ball playing lock. He plays 5/8th because no quality 5/8ths play on his team (Titans do have Rogers but he is gone now). For Bird to play 5/8th he'd have to overtake:

Carney
Anasta
Mullen
Soward

He is not better than any of them in the 5/8th position.

What does everyone think about Gasnier? I think he has it in him to hit top gear again and show us how much we missed him. I think Lyon is probably the best right centre for NSW as well.

I don't get this Michael Gordon business in centre? Didn't he play fullback for Penrith this year? He is a tad small as well aint he?

I'd take Bird over Anasta and Mullen.

I'd have Campese over Anasta, Mullen and Soward.

I know he has been. But I'm not sure if watched him this year in 5/8th. I bet his try assists would be under 10.
Nope. Didn't watch a single Titans game all year. He did have 13 try assists though.

NSW arent going to win by going around QLD. They have go to through them. Starting Bird at 5/8th is a better move for them defensively and then later on he can move to lock and they can have Carney and Gidley punching holes through the middle of the defence late in each half.

But the thing is, we need creativity, which Bird did not have in 5/8 at the titans this year, watch a few games and you will see. He is a great runner and ball player, but this year he wasn't a playmaker.

That's why you need a man like Carney in your 5/8 position.

With the rest of this season, the off-season and the games before origin 1 next year, Carney and Pearce will have built up a great combination in time for Origin 1. This current finals series will be great experience for them aswell.

Pretty close Tigger, IMO. Although I'd have Dugan in front of Hayne, and the Morris twins wouldn't be out of place there. But, more importantly, get a decent coach for a change and we can roll Qld, and do it for years to come.

So much good young backline talent. Shame they don't, and probably won't, get picked.

Am I the only one that still can't see what's so brilliant about Pearce? He's a good defender, and he's bound to get better, but I haven't seen anything to date that shows that he has anything extremely special in him (and I watched him through the juniors).

Oh and Bird has to be the lock. Those suggesting that Anasta is even in the same galaxy as him as a lock has got to be joking...

He's too kick happy and his rating seems to go more on lack of other options at halfback for NSW. Which is why I would have Bird/Carney or Campese/Carney as the halves.
