Is there no amount of nothing showings from TLL that'd see him fall out of favor here?

Bird has been pretty crap so far this year.

Who cares. They have never let NSW down, which is more can by said than most of the nuffies who jump in and out of the squad every year. This is the sort of attitude that lets us down every year... The likes of Inglis and Thurston could play tiddlywinks on the field for the first 2 months and still get selected for QLD and carve up.

1 Hayne
2 Gordon
3 Lyon
4 Gasnier
5 Uate
6 Carney/Soward
7 Pearce/Mullen (Carney and Pearce are my preferred, if they can string some decent games together in the next month)
8 Snowden
9 Farah
10 TLL
11 Gallen
12 Bird
13 Lewis (c)

14 Mannah
15 Tolman/Grant
16 Watmough
17 Gidley

halves are the only issue really. imo 1-5 and 8-16 pretty much pick themselves.

Hayne, Bird, Watmough, TLL, and Lyon are the must picks for me.

I like this team

Brett Morris is just playing with no confidence whatsoever I reckon-prime example was the break he made last night. If he was confident he'd have backed himself to outpace Wesser and would have scored. Gaz was terrific, B. Moz is probably little chance now.. but f**k me, Idris cannot be there!

imo with Dugan and Lawrence injured the back 5 picks itself now.

Hayne Gordon Gasnier Lyon Uate.

very classy backline. Idris isn't quite there yet and Morris and Jennings are down on form. I can't think of anyone else better.

Assuming we get a few players back, I'd like to see:

1. Dugan (possible return this week)
2. Hayne
3. Gordon
4. Idris
5. Uate

6. Mullen
7. Pearce

8. Tolman
9. Gidley
10. Snowden
11. TLL
12. Lewis (Bird if still injured)
13. Gallen

14. Weyman
15. Mannah
16. Bird (Heighington if Lewis injured)
17. Farah

18. Heighington
19. Soward
20. Champion

I want three travelling reserves with the squad in case of injury. They can train both with the main squad and with the seven listed below.

I want these guys in and around the squad up until game day with a view to the short, medium or long-term future. I want them training together, getting to know each other and been indoctrinated in the ways of the Blue. That means they stay in the same hotel, act as a second team for some drills with the main squad (for example a game of sevens against the backs), do other training drills together and eat, sh*t and shower at the same time as the main squad.
21. Linnett
22. Douglas
23. Fensom
24. Cordner
25. Farrell
26. Sims
27. Grant

With the rest of the emerging Blues squad, I want them also joining this group for a few days just to train together over the entire Origin period i.e. first Origin game in the ten days leading up, they do a few days training in this period. Leading up to number two the same deal. Same again for number three. I'd like to see them get at least a weeks worth of training.

We might as well take this seriously from now on.

Will be interesting to see if Dugan has enough time to force is way into the side. Doubt it though, unfortunately.

Gordon in the centres? No chance.
Why? He is a quality player, and if we are going to have Dugan, Hayne and Gordon in the side which I think is a must then one needs to shift. I wouldn't pick Lyon or Gasnier, mainly due to age and in the case of Lyon his questionable allegiances and heart towards NSW. Classy players, but I think there are better options at this stage. Gordon is playing better than both in any case.

Swap TLL and bird and the forward packs ok.
The only reason I picked TLL ahead of Bird is that I think we need to get on top of the Queensland pack as much as possible, and TLL can do that much better than Bird in my opinion. TLL is more your genuine forward. Bird is great and he is a must in the side, but I don't think his playing style is going to get us over the Queensland pack in the early stages. Just felt it was better for balance. Besides, with Gallen and Bird in the side there are going to be some penalties...

Oh and f**k gidley off from 9.

The problem is he is going to be picked, so I figured I may as well use him as a tackling dummy so as to save the classy hooker to come on after 20. The NSW side needs to make sacrifices and I am willing to sacrifice Gidley to a bash fest to save Farah.:D
