Morris Iemma on a Dragons Facebook group is stating that he did not apply for the CEO of the club. He has now said that a few times. Fake news?. Time wil tell

You don’t normally have to apply for the role at that level (CEO). A tap on the shoulder and invitation for a interview is generally how it works.

I’m actually surprised it was advertised at all.

How will we fit Pangai and Roberts into our cap? Just signed Korbin Sims for 3 years, Aitken and Lafai contracted up. You cant just add 2 of the most expensive players in nrl without offloading 2 or 3 of our best players.
I just don't get the love affair with Roberts. Sure he's quick, very quick, but really what else?
These are just stats for this year.

Roberts, Aitken, Lafai
Tries - 8, 10, 5
Try assists - 5, 1, 4
Tackle breaks - 66, 72, 63
Line breaks - 7, 9, 7
Tackle efficiency - 83.6%, 85.3%, 84.5%
Missed tackles - 33, 42, 21
Ave running metres - 85.7, 112.3, 108.4

Really, he is not any better than what we have already. Fast yes, but the rest is very very ordinary.

I'd rather back young Lomax than spend mega dollars, which will decapitate our cap, on a player with no better stats and has "issues" when we have the Farrari built and ready in our own garage.

Stats are not everything.
Roberts is a weapon. He puts fear in the opposition. He can score from anywhere. He is electric.
Lafai is bog average at best.
Aitken isn't a shadow of Roberts.
Just on Lomax, I too hope he lives up to the hype but one thing for sure, he is not that quick. I have seen him play a few times and he does not possess that explosive speed that Jimmy does.
Jimmy is a gun. As is Latrell Mitchell.

Did not see much of that against the Maroons. Bog average.
Im with Dragonslayer. Roberts has pace and that is it. Have a look at that missed tackles stat. For a "gun" his metres are moderate as are his tackle breaks and line breaks. Lafai would outcreate him all day. He has one of the best off loads in difficult situations in the game. Aitken is the big disappointment for me. He did stand up GI in one game but has done stuff all most of the season. His positional play in defence is deplorable. Hard to fathom how he was a Junior Kangaroo.

Lafai 137 games 45 tries
Roberts 120 games 67 tries
Not that stats are everything but this one paints one clear picture IMO

I would take Roberts at centre, but I think wing may be his best position.

I thought Braidon Burns could be worth having a closer look at? He has a good build for a centre, he has got a bit of pace.

Like Aitken, Burns does not know how to pass a ball. For those Knocking Roberts, judge him on what most people say or opposition do when he gets the ball, hold you breath expecting something exciting to happen....thats the difference between him and our centres.

You gotta remember this is the Dragons we are talking about.
They will search far and wide, look high and low, for the best, most qualified person to fill this illustrious position.
When that search is over they will then give it to the first ex Dragons player that walks through the door and tells them they are bestest board ever.

A little off topic, but.
Who is the “former NRL winger who played 10 season, but never scored more than 3 tries in a season” who pocketed $35 million in the last Ozlotto jackpot?

We are all now jumping at shadows and I doubt we will see anything until season end. Dragons do have 2 looming changes with CEO and new ownership structure to be announced. If we can snag the 3rd with new coach thats our trifecta. If we get rolled out and miss the 8 that’s been a complete disaster and a waste of a season. That will hang on our heads and players will have that as an albatross next year! If we fluke and make finals and bounce out in 1st week - I fear that’s good enough and no changes to coaches will occur means 2019 is Mary and his amigos at the helm. Club has a great opportunity to snag experienced coaches - Hasler, Maguire, Toovey and Bennett. There is too much of vested interests within our Club and the JV structure means by the time to wake up we are left with no options.

I always browse the internet and newspapers in the hope that I see whether we have signed any decent player, I would take a rumour if there was one.
But today I see where we have resigned Latimore for another year.
I am over it after that.

Hey that’s a bit harsh, Latimore is a very decent player, would make most A grade teams in any comp in Sydney.

I wasn’t being harsh on Latimore. I still think he is good off the bench. Does his job very well.
What I meant to say that all that we have announced is an extension of one of our ISP players compared to other clubs signing established first grade players.
