There are still a lot of uncertainties with our roster building mainly because of the be patient thing we have had to endure impatiently for the past x amount of years.

Flanno knows exactly what we need, it's the players who might/could/maybe/will be on the market that he would be putting feelers out for and this would not be limited to Australia but overseas as well. There has to be several on his wish list to cover halves, fullbacks, wingers, edge forwards, middle forwards, hookers and if he is unsuccessful with getting one of the halves coming off contract for example, there should be back ups to try and get instead. The same for the other positions.

Still pretty impressive to come in and completely wipe a disfunctional self-centred board/ceo out in your first week... you can understand why our board didnt want a bar of him despite Ryles request.
Good point. And this is what's confusing me with ours.
Our BOD's actions over the years are well documented, yet supposedly Australia's second richest person and the Dragons have entered into a financial arrangement that has the potential to catapult us into a powerhouse brand. So why the deathly silence? I'm a little nervous tbh.

Luai still not a Tiger for 2025 yet as he hasn't put pen to paper and they say that the Bulldogs and another club still interested as well as the Panthers themselves during the cooling off period if in fact he does sign with the Tigers.

You would have to think that AFB is going to the Dragons, I read an article on the NRL website that the Sharks are focussing on junior development and not so much on big marquee signings. Mind you I also think that we should be doing the same and not let our pathways go astray like they have in the last few years. Who knows really what is going on behind the scene, we have given him a really good offer.

I’m sure Flanno will be on top of the pathways.

I'm anxious now that Mam & Luai are off the market, that could mean many more eyes on Dearden.. imo we havent offered enough to him in the current inflated salary market.. but it may be issues other than just dollars going on.

Definitely dissapointed these signings look to be pushing out to 2024.. I thought a couple of weeks after Nov 1st it would all be wrapped up.
Yes Dolphins are interested apparently. I am sure there are more. Make it happen Flanno

The Dearden one will require patience. His manager said he won't be rushed into making a decision and will wait until during the season to make that decision. The Bulldogs will go hard for him too I would think now that Luai is off the market. Good news I believe will come on AFB soon enough, probably in the new year. We're going to have to sort out with the Warriors what they get in terms of compensation, but I'm confident we'll land him. Luki is another one I believe we'll land.
I am worried about the sharks as they have players to trade

The Ten day cooling off period would have expired by now on the Twiggy thing if it was true and nothing. I think maybe they are on the back of our shirts for now and its just a possibility they turn into a major sponsor later. Nothing is confirmed.

If we were to sign AFB, the feeling wouldn't be jubilation for me, it would be anxiety and hope. Anxiety that he will be a giant mistake (like Hunt), hope that he delivers on his cost.

The negative for signing an elite player is that their stocks are at a maximum. They are never going to give you a return far in excess of their cost like a Mam did this year. So no real chance of improvement and massive potential for disappointment.

Hence not fussed if we get AFB. I like to invest with potential for serious growth.

Tigers forking out similar coin for Luai six years after we signed Hunt. Shows you how much overs we paid for the over rated sook back then. One of our clubs greatest faux pas in the past decade.
Yes. Tigers will be over paying Luai who is not worth the $1.2M a year and he is overated.

Anyway, every club has at least one million dollar player in the squad. It is now part of the payment scheme of league and high payments to attract players happens in many other sports as well.

I think that someone has posted that Luai is now off the market and so is Dearden. Maybe Dearden has got his deal through with the Cowboys?
