I am over our mob from top to bottom.Seems in all reality that it will be the same next year with our management stuck with the head in the sand attitude.
Season cannot end quick enough for me.

FD,

I've torn between wanting the boys smack the Nulla Narks on the weekend to also wanting to fail in hope of sacking the coach.

As some have mentioned, if we put in a late rally of wins, the board will consider it a good season ..... which it has been anything but.

If anyone is a die hard Dragons supporter, like me, you will be sacrificing your own pride for every game here on.
Short term pain for LONG term gain is our only hope.
It's only when players start leaking their true opinion of "NO CONFIDENCE" in the coach, that his head will roll.
We can only hope the smooth shiny texture will roll at great speed down the hill.

Whats the latest on field plus we need a fullback next year . I see a lot of movement after season ends. We need a clean out on coaching staff and players fullback centre and a x factor player on the bench for next season.

Slip , when you see a player back a coach who obviously is not up to it , you got to think that there must be a clause in their contract to not bring the club in to disrepute. If you were on half a mil a year would you tell the truth about your coach and jeopardize your contract ? The only way to get rid of him is through the dressing room and out on the field. The fact the bloody board cant ( or wont ) see this is a worry in itself. ONLY when the board feels threatened will drastic changes be made , to protect their own arses.'We need to keep losing badly.

Got a mate who is a Raiders fan, he's a good mate.
This year he has empathized with me and told me how he felt all those years with David Furner as head coach. Reckoned he was the worst coach they ever had.
Just read the article linking both Trent Barrett and David Furner to Dragons next year as assistant coaches to join Mary.
Coaching staff
Paul McGregor
Trent Barrett
David Furner
That my friends will do me, put a fork in me, I'm done.

At least the rumour concerning David Furner as an assistant, he's from outside the old boys brigade. He can't be too bad as an assistant coach as he was with the Cowboys in 2013 for the Premiership. Last year he was the assistant to Seibold at the Bunnies & only just missed the GF by a week. He has also been the Assistant Coach to Mal Meninga with the Kangaroos over the last few years.
He's more qualified than McWreckor!! He'll need big and broad shoulders to carry the twin pack of peanuts in Mary & Barrett.

Coffs...I think he would of been the recommendation from Crawley with the Canberra connections..so may qualify as a Boys club appointment.
In saying all that those 2 would be an improvement on what we have and would hopefully tell mary stay out of it you just do you man management we will handle the game plans, defence, attack..basically the rest...I hope

I would not of blamed Furner through all those years he had then playing some good attacking football but also had family sickness personal problems as well. He was a rookie and has done good apprenticeships elsewhere since then.
I found Furner's squads were always competitive (great record against the Dragons anyway) and played attacking football..except they had too many errors and defence has been a liabiilty for a decade or more.
Their recruitment except for Fergo and squad during his tenure were not that strong but they were bringing some guns through the place in Dugan, Croker & Milford. Canberra is where Milford played his best football as a young fullback

Hey BLM I believe David Furner was sacked from the Raiders in 2013 & Mick Crawley joined them as an assistant in 2014. So, that connection theory is not correct!
I'm just impressed someone is finally looking outside the pigs trough to get some proper coaching credentials.

Yes but Don Furner is still there. They are all great mates and I am sure there would of been aphone call or 2 between them. Anyway I agree it is an improvement in the assistant department

Coffs, to me, the assistant just orders the hamburgers and fries for the coach.
I think the only time they communicate is if the coach wants to go 'large'.

Mary has showed over and over that he will not take advice from anybody else so why would he listen to furner. Mary has showing that anybody who offers advice or tells him is wrong he's out the door.
I hope your right and it would make a difference but I doubt it

Samy,
totally correct supercoach doesnt listen just throws helpers under the bus.. the only thing i can think of with approaching furner and barrett is a 'ready made" replacement next year when the board finally come to their senses and sack supercoach .. that way they have worked all off season with the new cattle and hopefully can transition smoothly after round 7 ( hope our season isnt gone by then )

Yes agree,,but he has had novices as offsiders. In the case of Furner & Barrett have a bit more experience and Furner will knock his block off if he does not listen.
And I think he has been or will be told (if board sanctioned) they are coming and he is to utilise and listen to them...if he wants to stay in his job. He has been told things have got to change. Lets just wait & see.
Recruitment and retention is next big agenda for our club in the short term
