The Rumours Thread

Article states Canberra were interested but dropped off , the whispers I have heard are that Flanagan is not impressed with his attitude
So if you are thinking who would replace Amone in the number 6 if he was moved on, the Mole then goes on to say the plan would be play Flanagan junior at 7, and move Ben Hunt to 6.
Make of it what you will, keeping in mind it is reported in just another rugby league gossip column.

This won't sit well with a lot of fans. Flanno brings his son and more or less gives him his "preferred" spot at 7, whilst he moves the sook to 6 which he has demanded he play 7. And to top it off get rid of Amone who Saints have persisted with for 2 years now.

I cannot see a halves combo of Hunt/Flanno Jnr as an improvement to what Saints had? I really hope he has plans for bringing in another half if he does get rid of Amone.

And here we thought Flanno Jnr was brought in to play 14 and cover hooker/half.

Yeah, I'm not exactly happy if that's how it pans out. It is coming from the Mole though who isn't a stranger to reporting false news. Maybe Flanno has identified Hunt's lack of game management skills, and given Kyle is more of an organiser, thinks Kyle to 7, Hunt to 6 will be what we need. If that's what happens, as I say I'm very skeptical right now, but I'll give the combination a watch before making a definitive judgement.

I agree with you, however I can only assume there are more changes on the way.

Wide World Of Sports reporting that Flanno is trying to move on Junior Amone
First I have heard about this as Junior was not among those asked to hit the open market. So by bringing his son here, a bloke who has struggled at other clubs, he is prepared to oust a local junior who has untapped talent. Is it because of his assault charge, as he knows better than most that mud sticks.

Still totally unimpressed with Amone after 2 full years in FG, Cant think of too many games he has won us .

But I guess I could say that about most of the team

I think even our worst buy Corey won us 2 with FG's !!!!
Flanno impresses me as a guy who's a good judge of talent and commitment- and doesn't muck around when wielding the axe. Good on him. As a coach if you're not confident in the decisions you make, you're not worth two bob. If Amone is the smart arse who thinks he knows it all I believe he might be and Flanno wants him out, I'd like Treigh Stewart to be given a crack at 5/8. He's like the 4th musketeer from that Sullivan, Amone, Sloan dominated winning Flegg? side.
