Burt would have been able to slot in at fullback and it wouldn't have made much of a difference to the overall game plan, once Hayne left the field it sounded like we were lost and our game-plan went out the window as Sio as no-one had confidence in each other defence wise. But in the same token players shouldn't be selected just to have a contingency plan, though given Hayne was returning from injury it might have been smart to do just in case.

I think sio did a Better job at fullback then what Burt would have done.

Burt would not have made a difference he's a speed hump. If Hayne doesn't go down we win and this thread does not exist. Got to love Parra supporters biggest panic merchants ever. Makes me sick.

I don't think he'd have missed the kicks Sandow did...and 12-0 is a huge difference over 8-0. And if you seriously think he'd have done worse than Esi in defence OR attack you've got rocks in your head, but that wouldn't shock me...

Anyway, that said on form I'd give Mullaney the crack next week, with Morgan replacing Esi. There's no way Burt should have been dropped but he has been and Mullaney outperformed him

Sio's performed very well in every chance he's had at the top grade.

Next week (assuming it will be too early to risk Jarryd again), I'd imagine we'd go with:
1. Sio
2. Burt
3. Morgan (assuming Esi's injury/defence might require some time out)
4. W Tonga
5. Blair

Your argument is flawed for a few reasons.

1. Esi was playing in the 3/4 and was forced to the wing when Hayne went off injured. Yes, Esi is a
Poor defender but he's a better 3/4 than Burt.

2. Burt had a shocker for Wenty with the boot he got half of hos kicks in. On that evidence to say he would of got both those kicks from the sideline is like blowing steam up the good ol' POUNANI.

No Burt would have made no difference on the result at all. But looking at Jarryd in the warm up, he didn't look quite right and those are the risks you run.

No harm in putting Jarryd in cotton wool for one more week and playing Burt if he wasn't 100%, it is early in the season. Now we might be without him for an extended period and that is the difference playing Burt could have made.

I'm surprised that Loko hasn't been mentioned as a replacement for Esi.... I rate Loko better than Esi anyway, I thought he was pretty ordinary all round tonight..... and don't get me started on Keating! how we ever let Mitchell go for him I'll never know.

I reckon even Esi is better than Loko in a zimmer splint and on crutches...
