When I watch the eels plays sometimes when things start going against them I get that feeling that they don't have that fight like some other teams like manly or storm etc that will fight to the last second even if they are losing by 20.

Players go missing like Sandow, who was pretty much not to be seen in the last 20 mins yesterday.

Its the fight and courage that is missing in the eels as I watched them yesterday as things started going against them near the end of the game they just fell apart and had no fight in them and that is not the only time I have seen this.

I saw the same thing against the tigers.

I think ricky has heaps more to do to fix this team besides putting in new faces I believe the club culture has to be changed as well.

The talent is there in the lower grades and I believe the sooner ricky dispossess these players that are not preforming on the pitch with the stats or the fight to win the better it will be for the club.

please dont compare the current squad with Melbourne, we are so far from that its not funny.
we all know how mentally weak our side is atm,but the guys are trying hard,but let me say this,
if team 1 isnt as good as team 2 ,team 1 will need the rub of the green and a few decisions go their way to achieve wins over the better teams. we got no help last night and with some ill discipline we threw it away.

I thought when they stopped the Titans player on the line at the last grasp was a good indication of the want to win. They really couldn't help bad work by the ref & a fluke try to Kelly.

I totally agree.

There's only so much you can do when the referee gives a piggyback to the opposition to march downfield and keep putting pressure on us.

I'm disappointed with the loss, but I think the team tried very hard and never gave up. It's just really difficult when the referees penalise us for everything and ignore our opponents doing the same things.

I also think we have "forgotten how to win" - we get nervous and blow a good lead when people pressure us. That's to be expected of a young team, though, I guess.

Your third paragraph misses the point of Stuarts press conference and the general feeling on this forum... the refs call the game the way they see it differently for different teams. We just went them to be consistent.

This is the point (which you're missing) - the Titans did it all game and we only got four penalties (one in the second half).

I dare say one of the reasons we gave away so many penalties is because we were only doing what we saw the Titans getting away with.

you guys are much like the warriors fans blaming the refs for the loses you have had for not splitting the penalty count down the middle:roll::roll:

Its football deal with it some calls you get your way and some you dont, you never talk about all the calls that go the eels way in a game of football do you?

The reason you lost is because your players just where not good enough in the last 20 mins and got run over by a team that wanted it more end of story.
