Hmm... I'll just add one more to the record - this will be the last though. Hopefully this Cattery bloke hangs himself after the new deal. That might sound harsh but we're overpopulated as it is.

(Up to 10 minutes available to edit.) | Report comment Well I’ll put it to the roar mods to intervene here if they wish and they can state if my posts were reported/deleted or not. I’m unsure if they can comment on that or not but I have no problem with asking that as I know what I posted.
But even if they do contradict your accusations about paranoia, I somehow doubt you will even have the humility to admit to yet another in your long line of errors as your record to control your ego thus far is poor at best.
Your interest in how I spent my weekend is another case in point. The only person posting a running ticking clock was you. 12 hours. 24 hours. 36 hours. I simply shrugged off these immature antics after I posted my original replies because I figured that once more you were choosing to ignore any comment that contradicted your habitation on that lonely island you seem so fond of, which you have done once again.
Clearly you must enjoy your solitude there. After all this I can finally understand why you are alone there…

difference between revenue and income? Either way it is going to be a lot more than the NRL. As the NRL doesn't publish an annual statement it is impossible to know what there actual revenue/income is at the moment but snippets of news suggests it is around the $150million mark (http://www.nrl.com/news/news/newsar...ef-executives-support-salary-cap/default.aspx)

This one suggests around $170mill (http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/afls-money-tree-overshadows-nrl/story-e6frg7mf-1226012254451)

Not sure where the AFL's additional $1billion revenue on top of the media deal is coming from but the NRL should find out and soon!

Revenue is all money brought in before expenses.

Income is profit after expenses.

And its not just the AFL's revenue that dwarfs the NRL's, but its the indivudal clubs themselves as well. I'll take the two clubs I support as examples:

Hawthorn (2010) Parra (2011)

Merchandise $2.5m $1.5m
Marketing/Sponsorship $12.5m $5.4m
Membership $7.5m $2.5m
Bar & Bistro $4.6m $5m
Matchday Inc $5m included above
Totals $32.1m $14.4m

I've excluded the pokie revenue earn't by the Eels leagues club and the grants from the NRL/AFL (plus the smaller misc income items), but looking at the above, its quite obvious that the TV deal is only the first step our game needs to take in trying to maximise its revenue streams.

sorry guys, crap formatting

You need to put links in for that sort of shit.

Or are you pulling the figures out of your arse?

Happy? I've found the 2011 Hawthorn Annual report as well (see below). The same revenue items have increased to $33.3m for 2011.

Yes Hawthorn is one of the bigger/well supported AFL clubs (don't know where the Eels would rank in the NRL) and the Hawks are riding a wave of good results, v's the Eels struggling to avaoid the spoon last year, but the difference is massive. Costs are massive too in the AFL, but the club made profits of $2m (give or take) each of the last 2 years.

Considering this is the last day before the negotiations are open to all, should we be expecting any announcements?

You need to try again with the Parra link.

And it's not a question of being happy, the rules are quite succinct on this type of thing. The day we allow trolls to post figures without links is the day I stop being a member here.

Not trying to troll, because I truely hope our media deals trumps the AFL so that we can wipe the smug look off a few faces. I was merely pointing out that we still have much to work on, and I hope a massive TV rights deal doesn't gloss over the other issues purely by weight of cash.

I didn't say you were a troll, but if we allow anyone to post that type of info without links, then we can hardly just make sure the trolls do.

And the Parra link still doesn't work.

am i the only one who found it funny that Rabs talked about the rights yesterday in the Footy and he said something like "no matter which network gets them" ?

previously Rabs had been certain 9 would retain them according to his sources but that piece of commentary didn't seem so sure
