Guaranteed live HD coverage is an absolute must. This grainy shit can't continue. The long shots look like screenshots from ET's Rugby League.

unless Fox get all games and are the host broadcaster for all games, no f**king hope.

The AFL had to step in to get 7 to give Fox a HD feed out of the truck and not the broadcast SD feed even tho they use HD production facilities.

Don't expect 9 to do any favours.

Remember - we were supposed to have NRL coverage on Gem already.

You call league players and supporters champions and Neanderthals and bag the shit out us over on your private school boys Union website mate, don't play that "Im above it all" bullshit here. (PS the LU spellchecker changes mung to champions)

You want me to show you the posts of mine on the GAGR site where I have specifically said calling League Mungoball was basically in poor taste and offensive? I did use the term once when I first heard it, but it didn't sit well with me on reflection. I think being derogatory in that manner is, I dunno, diminishing and I regret getting caught up in a thread with that crap going on. Pretty funny that you get so worked up over what someone calls League though when you see the bile and vitriol heaped on Union round here. Pots and kettles really.

NBN had the Home of Rugby League ad on last night, the very definition of cringeworthy.

My favourite part was when they were talking about how you need to have the very top players on the broadcast and then they show a picture of Ken Sutcliffe.

I look forward to seeing the ratings for the AFL NSW vs QLD State of Origin match.

Oh wait - nobody gives a f**k!

And whilst you're at it Doc, who could forget that "successful" (with all the talk at the time that the AFL Origin concept would be revived in the years to come, it all fell like a hot pancake) Victorians vs All-Stars "Origin" match Vlad et al. staged in 2008 to take the gloss of league's centenary year, claiming that it was honouring the 150 year anniversary of their game, when in fact the AFL had their centenary in 1996.:lol::lol:

How the majority of those Victorians pass mathematics in school, I don't know. With maths skills like that, they would be lucky just to get one question right in the NAPLAN test.

The AFL fans advocating for a return of rep football are right to feel jealous. It's something their sport will never know again in any meaningful way.

Even if the AFL brings back top tier interstate matches, it won't be long before the clubs influence destroys it again. I've also heard people make some crazier (sometimes even racist) suggestions for AFL rep games - Blacks vs Whites, Aussies vs Non Aussies, North vs South, Schoolyard Captains Picks...

No offense to the fumbleball brigade but none of those teams will compare to what it means to put on the Baggy Green or a Socceroos or Wallabies or Kangaroos jersey.

They need to accept it and move on with their lives.

that's pretty uninformed dude - the centenary in 1996 was 100 years of the league.

the 150th anniversary of the game was the 150th birthday of the first club.

on topic, I hope gallop's departure didn't delay the deal too much. the reason I suspect it might is because I think nrl only gets the billion with Perth and Brisbane 2 coming in during the next agreement.

I also hope we get the afl/fox sports deal, but with all games in hd. even Townsville games.

So you respond to my post where I point out your double standards by saying "Yeh, but you guys do it to?!!"

Stand corrected, I should of said, crowds on par with league.

In Melbourne maybe, and maybe at its peak certainly not in its long slow downward spiral towards the end.
