Maybe they intend on using GEM for something other than old re-runs. Or the Sunday games could potentially end up on Fox?

Who knows, I don't think Nine retaining the rights is as big a lock as others seem to think.
Nine have treated the game like absolute shit.
They promote & talk up their biggest rival in sport.

They should not be within 10,000 miles of RL.
If TEN(please) get the rights then you will see the difference between a station that promotes its sport & one who treats it indifferently.

Nine types, including head of sport Steve Crawley, see a lot of similarities between the V8 Supercars and NRL audiences.

And if Nine retains the NRL rights, as expected, the lure of a V8 Supercars round before a live NRL match would be a ratings bonanza.

I don't watch motor sport.

None of my mates do. We are all League mad.

I have one cousin, who is a mass bogan, who will love this though. My other 16 cousins are all League mad and won't care a pinch of shit though.

These dicks in ivory towers have no idea. Any wonder they treat the game the way they do. They look down on League types as second class citizens.

Pay us you merkins. I don't care if you put more re runs of Big Bang Theory or another f**king balck and white movie on before us.

Better still - f**k Off Nine.

I somehow doubt V8 super cars generates 300m in advertising revenue a year. I doubt it generates 20% of that.

I'm surprised anyone still watches the V8s.

I have one mate who watches it, he's the bogan mate we all laugh at. Channel 9 is the perfect channel for it.

Um, what?

Surely the NRL has got to the point with TV figures where it is certainly not just one segment of the population watching.
