I'm not fussed who gets it, as long as it's for the right money. There was a discussion recently over why some are HD and some aren't. It's physically impossible to show the games in HD at certain grounds. Dairy Farmers being one.

Sunday's game has to be live. That would be my only provision.

I just want to see more games on FTA. I don't mind if they're delayed, I don't care if they're full of ads (well, maybe a bit), I just don't want to pay for Foxtel. Best case scenario would be Fox ad free simulcast which means people can watch the games on Fox (that'll get rid of a lot of whinging about ads) and it means those of us who can't/won't pay for Foxtel still get the games but have to sit through ads.

It's nowhere near done....

True.

If it were "done" we would, right now, all be hand wringing in despair and admonishing Gallop for doing a such a shoddy job while he publicly states that the media environment is in such dire straits that Rugby League should be thankful for the less than expected deal @ $915k.

There is still some tension to be released in the bid process & much of that will not be transparent to us.

Is it just me or are Nine incredibly incompetent not just with League but in general. FFS, they Go where all the content is virtually from the last ten years in SD, while Gem a channel seemingly dedicated to War-period Black and White Movies and Infomercials in HD. Oh and this cannot be interrupted for HD Rugby League.

V8s for Nine?

Having lost its battle to win AFL rights from Channel Seven, Channel Nine remains intent on striking a blow against its sporting coverage rival and is on the verge of luring the big-money V8 Supercars across to Willoughby for next year. Nine types, including head of sport Steve Crawley, see a lot of similarities between the V8 Supercars and NRL audiences. And aside from it being a huge blow to Seven, there's a massive opportunity for cross-promotion between the NRL and motor sports category. Nine boss Jeff Browne met the V8 Supercars administration in Sydney last Thursday and a deal could be a reached as soon as next month. Next year is already shaping up as a massive season for V8 Supercars with the introduction of the Car of the Future and Nissan as a third manufacturer. And if Nine retains the NRL rights, as expected, the lure of a V8 Supercars round before a live NRL match would be a ratings bonanza. The five-year V8 deal is expected to cost Nine about $300 million but given the amount of corporate spending in V8s, they could make that back in advertising in the first year alone. The existing deal at Seven expires in December.

How is that going to work with Sunday football? Won't the V8's and Sunday football clash?

Maybe this is a sign that it will be a Sunday evening game NOT a Sunday afternoon game.

Maybe they intend on using GEM for something other than old re-runs. Or the Sunday games could potentially end up on Fox?

Who knows, I don't think Nine retaining the rights is as big a lock as others seem to think.
