Please let this be true. Love to see Channel 9 stuck with Rugby Union as their jewel in the crown. Plus I haven't got Foxtel. So would prefer to see it all on free to air. I suppose it would mean that we would need to create some new timeslots. Bring back Saturday avro's, and some Sunday night 6:30pm games

I guess if they were going to do this they would probably show the big games (Friday nights and Sunday games) on 10 and all the other games on One HD. It would certainly give the digital channel a massive boost in viewership. Does 10 have $800mill in the bank to pay for it all? Where would this leave Fox? If 10 gets all 8 games then Fox would also get 8 game simucast but the value would be much much lower as who would subscribe when you can get it for free? Fox would need to find some other way to entice RL viewers to subscribe. I know a RL channel with English, French, NRL, Q'land and NSw cup and every other Rl game that is televised around the world!

A piece of interesting news was texted to me today re Channel 7.

The most brilliant news to come out in years, but also what I have been saying a FTA station should do all along.

Channel 9 & Fox are now in a 3 month exclusivity negotiating right but I'm sure the ARLC will test the water after that. They need a decision by end of October, so there's no rush.

The contract is for 5 years - 2 with 8 games & 3 with 9 games - is that correct? $1.25 Billion would be good, average of $250 Million a year but the last 3 should command more $ than the 1st 2.
