I'd have to disagree,
AFL
2 in WA
2 in SA
9 in Vic
2 in NSW
2 in Q'land
teams linked in to play regular games in:
NT
Tas
ACT
Basically they will have at least 4 games of AFL in every state and territory in the country
NRL
we have:
WA 0
SA 0
Vic 1
NSW10
Q'land 3
ACT 1
no guaranteed games in SA,WA, Tas or NT
Aside from maybe Newcastle I doubt there is any population area AFL would want to be in that we are in.
Comparing the states is flawed though, particularly when some states (NSW, QLD) have a much larger population than others (WA, SA, TAS, NT).
For arguments sake, lets say the Bears and Reds come into the NRL in 2013 (which they should) the competitions would look like this.
AFL
9 Melb
2 Perth
2 Adelaide
2 Sydney
1 Brisbane
1 Gold Coast
NRL
9 Sydney
1 Brisbane
1 Melbourne
1 Perth
1 Auckland
1 Gold Coast
1 Newcastle
1 Wollongong
1 Canberra
1 Townsville
1 Central Coast
Which one do you think is more impressive?
