I'm sure if there were a problem at Parra, Fitzy would be the first to let us know
The only good about Parra Leagues is the Chinese restaurant which is quality.... other than that it is a hole. The place needs a major overhaul. The place has aged just like Fitzy has.
I'll repeat, go to Canterbury Leagues or Panthers. Now they are great set ups!!!
i agree, the setups are excellent. maybe we should look at expanding the leagues club.
If Parra had unrestricted access to their land I'm sure they would be much bigger..
Unfortunately our Club is Hamstrung by the Proximity to housing.. and also via things such as Friends of Parramatta Park.. Heritage Listings.. the Stadium Trust and Parramatta River...

Absolutely.
As I've said in another thread - we can't expand outwards and so must expand upwards and below ground. Without this, our floorspace is severely limited and thus our ability to provide variety (like Panthers) is basically shot down.
3P or the Incumbents - neither can fix the situation or remove the blocks that are in our way.
It sucks.
Just a few questions. Is it possible and or feasible to move the club to a better and bigger location? Has anyone here got enough knowledge to make a case for such a massive decision to take place? Could we hold on to the current leagues club, and use it to acquire a more suitable premises?
Well... I'm just taking a wild guess..
But..
I dare say the first issue would be $$$$ and would rely on whether or not an existing structure was readily available or if a new one would need to be built.
I doubt a big move would be feasible considering a move of such magnitude would take years to plan.
Nothing could happen until Goverment/Council approval is given... Then you would need to allow time for modifications &/or construction - all of which would need to take place just to have it in a position to be ready to occupy.
I have read all your comments with great interest, you are well informed and make some great points. I cannot agree on your first post saying the club is still well run, as it is not and it is run down and desperately needs attention. "Cant" is not in my vocabulary, there are aways an alternative to a present situation, and a carefully thought out process for change attracts positive reaction, not negative detraction. This club will change dramatically, but not without all of your imput.
We should at the very least be doing a deal with Westfields for a Parra shopfront closer to town, to sell merchandise and tickets and memberships etc (maybe in return for some contra sponsorship if money is an issue).
We should also be looking at doing a deal with the Council in relation to its Civic Place re-development... getting an Eels shop front space there facing Church St Mall would be ideal. The Council surely realise the economic ebenfit of having a top flite footy team, and people coming into the city to use the stadium (and the city's businesses before and afterwards). Or they need to be reminded of how businesses and the whole area came alive in ealry 80s when Parra were winning.
Most other clubs with presences out of their main city centre have shopfronts where the action is as well, and don't wait for people to come to them. I've seen the Souths one just off the main street of Redfern (seeing Redfern Oval and the Leagues Club are tucked away at the back of the suburb), with a big memberships flag out the front. I've seen the Newtown Jets stall every weekend (during the off-season too) in the heart of King Street (seeing as Henson and their clubhouse are miles away).

In regards to location, what about right in the heart of the business and entertainment district, something like Easts Leagues. They are not a massive club by any stretch, but are profitable due to being where the people are and they cater to both the pokies entertainment.
