What a joke, he was falling ffs.
Thats a bullshit sin binning on Chambers. He was falling.

Irrelevant and something I blame commentators, particularly ex players for. Fans only run off what they get saturated with. Journos and commentators should be gagged on this.

There is no excuse, mitigation or leniency in the rules for that. Nothing about first contact, nothing about falling, nothing about lazy arms, fatigue or getting wrong footed.

Just don't attack the head. The rule hasn't changed. The policing of it has and I'm over hearing shit like he was falling and other excuses.

It's zero tolerance. I don't care which player from which team does it.

  1. (b) when effecting or attempting to effect a tackle makes

contact with the head or neck of an opponent intentionally,

    recklessly or carelessly.

If someone is falling and you are doing everything you can to tackle someone around the torso it is neither reckless nor careless.

It is not solely an outcome penalty ie you hit the head and it's an automatic penalty.

10 in the bin for that situation where someone is falling is silly and was never what the rule was designed to penalise.

There has to be some common sense and mitigation for a falling target.

Great team effort! Playing straight up the guts and opening them up easily.

Best of all, not one single crabbing inside ball.

It was designed to stop contact with the head. That's all. No excuse. Read the rule and stop arguing rubbish.

Get used to it.

More for the dummies

(a) it is an infringement if, whilst attempting to effect a tackle on a ball-carrier, a defender makes contact above the armpits intentionally, recklessly or carelessly.

(b) A defender, in front of a ball-carrier who is diving or falling, is permitted to come in contact with the ball-carrier’s shoulder provided the defender’s arm(s) extends down the shoulder and trunk, i.e. underneath the ball-carrier.

Just a solid half of decent footy - a few brain fades but really good signs. Was there one bomb is that half?
Why was Talaki off for - HIA? And who got him?
