The Worst Team in the Competition

How long have I and others been commentating on the plight that our club now finds itself in? Calling the truth was perceived as negativity. But now it is apparently cool to state the obvious????

Our problems are many and deep rooted in the Club. But our Board responds by reappointing Price. Mind blogging to say the least.

Why don't you give it a break. You are always having a go at the players, coach & board & a lot of people are getting sick of your ranting. I could go on & on however I have better things to do such as support the club, not continually running it down.
Support the Sharks then you would have something to worry about

Spoon isnt out of the question but then slipping into the 8 isnt out of the question either, frankly its only a bad month of football between those 2 results (scary), no teams apart from maybe the injured Tigers line-up are out of the comp.

However... Mid-season purchases of Dugen/Rangi (or Williams) though is a game-changer, its not enough to be a serious premiership threat, but it will make such a big difference to our point scoring ability, and confidence will come with that and so on.. Fein is back to backup hooker, pressure if off Sowie and we will be a much better balanced team.

ALSO losing our most potent try scorer,ORIGIN winger Morris was a big blow and for the team to fight back we should be a little prouder of the team. The poor first 25 minutes cost us the game, and it was always going to be difficult with a patched up backline but we fought back well.

Totally agree. Watched it on fox sports and the half time report was that price wasn't happy with the way they were not playing to the game plan and that they were playing as individuals and had no shape. That being said they came out a different team in the second half and were dominating manly in every facet of the game except goal kicking. We scored 3 trys and ripped off with the no try to rein. I know people will say we had enough ball to win easily but isn't getting repeat sets a sign of a good team. Last year we where probably coming last in forced drop outs but last night they had manly on the back foot for the majority of the second half. I'm starting to side with the experts that price is a good coach we just need some x factor players which hopefully we will get soon. I think the test of his coaching abilities will be in letting some of the deadwood go at the end of this year.

I think the whingeing stopped for a few weeks while we were winning.

I’m a little surprised at negativity by a many in this place
• We’re running 12th on 6 points
• We haven’t lost to a bottom 8 team
• We were narrowly beaten by Manly last night who are considered contenders and beaten soundly by the Roosters on ANZAC day. Mostly likely the Roosters and Rabbits will play the GF this year.
• Last night both teams had key players missing and neither played particularly well, neither side however was poor. Our side played well and could well have made up the deficit and won. Soward’s goal kicking is probably more of concern than anything else of late
Assuming Morris and Cooper return soon, we have the ability to return to the eight within a few weeks and should float around 7th-9th for the remainder of the season. The addition of Dugan, Chase or Williams is a bonus if any or all eventuate.
It’s a tough comp. I’m looking forward to the blooding of a few new prospects in coming weeks.

Cagey Mac, you are talking way too much sense and that will not be tolerated. These people expect perfection, nothing more...I mean, is it really too much to ask that we win every game by at least 50 points with no tries scored against us or the coach should get sacked?

With the additions of Dugan and Rangi(hopefully by then) if we can be there and there abouts after Origin and put a decent run in the last few rounds,we can make the 8.The comp is even from 6th place down so a team that can put a few wins late can make it.
From then on it will be extremely tough.

A win or 2 fixes most things in footy. We wouldn't be reading all this negativity if we'd somehow won last night.
I think the toughest thing about last night, was it was probably a game we would usually win - even last year we got away with them at Kogarah.
That indicates we've probably slipped down a notch or 2 from last year, meaning making the 8 is probably going to be a bridge too far.
Clearly the club knows it and are addressing it as indicated by all the signings.

It's not the fact that they are losing it is how they are losing. They are dominating teams in possession, good field position and penalty counts and still losing.

You look at stats after the game and wonder how they lost. Not once but twice. Brisbane and now Manly. It is quite embarrassing and very frustrating to watch.

Brisbane was bad IMO and had many calling for Price to walk the plank but last night

No Beale
No Morris
No Cooper
Nightingale at fullback with Vidot on the wing
Fein a hooker who is "On Special" because his use by date is flashing playing half
Soward missing goals badly (we scored 4 tries against Manly)

You're being unreasonable and harsh
Add to that negotiations with Dugan, Chase, et al, in order to mitigate our plight

We're well-managed at the moment by any rational criterion

It all comes back to our play makers soward & fein have very little vision at times.there were times last night that we should have attacked their left side because they had a second rower & a new winger and they might of been a bit fragile.but we continued to go to lyons side which was never going to be productive with prior & green up against one of the best defensive centres in the game.rein also has little vision out of dummy half & also has a poor passing game as well as no running or kicking game.

+1

We just hold our own for that first 20 mins and we win.

Manly started to fall apart after 30 mins.

What I haven't seen in a good is one of these 'whinger' baggers come up with a decent argument as to why we should have hope in this and last season. It's those who have been fighting the intellectual fight for better management and action who foretold of us being 3 from 8 because we have no depth no quality or direction. It's those who can't just sit back and say "she's right, next year will be better".

How much does Steve Price get paid to sit there and name the same team every week even when the team he coaches can't take a win that is much needed and handed to us with sugar on top? Do something constructive for 2013 and earn your keep.

You're a true warrior, but more than that - you're a clairvoyant. A seer. You must have foreseen all the injuries too. I have only two questions:

1. What are this saturday's Lotto numbers?
2. Can I touch your biceps?

I dont think anyone foretold of us being 3 from 8. I heard a saw a handful of whingers claiming 0 from 8, and some optimists saying we could be 5 from 8 at best after a tough opening draw...WHAT'S THAT? WE ARE SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE? SHIT, WE NEED TO SACK PRICE!!!

You have fans that have higher expectations than others hence why opinions are divided. The fans that don't care how bad the team is going and will follow the club no matter what and others that love the club but hate watching them perform to a level they SHOULDN'T be performing at because they know that they are a better footy side than what they are showing. They are the fans that hurt every time they see a bad performance. If you don't feel like crap after a bad loss then great good for you (god I wish I was like that), but I am sure that the ones that hurt, that don't sleep well after a bad game, and feel like crap for a few days after are the fans that are whinging most now.
