Not really. It's not really up to me anyway.
At this stage, it's just a case of leave as is and see where it takes us.
The general consensus seems to be that Jubilee Avenue wants to remain autonomous. It has a different default layout (more WORL-ish), and no avatars, sig files unless the user chooses to see them.
So Jubilee Avenue is unique.
Making it look and feel like the old forum took a lot of effort. Coby did a great job and tried to please everyone. Getting all the posts and member profiles over from the old set up was a mammoth task. It often involved looking after individual requests. You may remember when the Jubilee Ave forum was first set up as a lifeboat for WORL members - that was years ago. At the time there were concerns that NineMsn might pull the plug, but no one was sure about if or when. So yeah, it took hours, then days, then months, then years before the transfer was complete.
FTR, I read as far back as 2002 that NineMsn were not going to continue with their forums pass 2008, but I never considered it to be a totally reliable source. As it turned out, it was spot on. Could have been a coincidence. Nevertheless, it was enough for LU to move away from a NineMsn format (LWOS) and set up on our servers in 2003.
That's the good thing about this. We members, mods and admin are in total control of this site. No one 'upstairs' can decide to pull the plug. The site is run by league supporters, not a faceless corporation. Sure, there is a loose heirarchy and site owners that make decisions - but essentially, everyone is free to voice their opinion and have a say it how it's run.
This thread is an indication of that.
