Time for Moylan to 5/8

Moylan is essentially playing 5/8th in attack at the moment. Not much changes other this his jersey number if he moves to 6.

I personally look forward to seeing 7. Cleary 6. TMM 1. Moylan.
Not having a fullback in attack actually does change a lot

As mentioned earlier with two genuine halves Moylan runs the risk of confusing the attack now , unless he takes a step back. But that would mean we aren't utilising his best talent.

Plus we're still minus a quality kick return at fullback.

I think Cartwright has stagnated this season. Making him the 6 for so long has simply screwed him around. It's telling how many opposition fans now see him as a bit of a joke when mentioned as a rep player. He needs to be in the second row, full stop, and work on his game.

The fact that Moylan did not get a single run out at 6 is a total joke.

I'd argue his first full season of 1st grade had something to do with it

Cartwright started well at 6 but it's f**ked him around now. The last two weeks has been ok with him just running like a back rower it before that he was forcing himself to make plays and his confidence is completely shot defensively.

But he still thinks he needs to be a playmaker - that kick against the Warriors on what, the second or third tackle within the 20 was just moronically dumb.

I haven't seen any evidence of a "grinding, no-frills, error-free" game plan this season (outside of jettisoning Segeyaro for the limited Wallace who can only play one way), so either (a) the article is full of shit, or (b) Griffin is even worse at getting the team to follow his game plan than I thought.

To be fair, I hate the idea of just letting the players play "what they see in front of them on the field." That is a recipe for disaster - or at least a flashy, inconsistent side that will always fail when the going gets tough. We need a coach who can take the ball playing talent and make it work as part of a system that the players believe in. I doubt Griffin is that guy though.

That's the second lurker piece questioning Griffin , if there is any truth to it I'd imagine a major journo will pick up on it soon. (Yes I know , usual caveats about the Lurker)

Cartwright's made some stupid errors at 6 (which he'd probably make in 11 or 12 as well) but overall he's hardly been a disaster. Would be interested to see his try assists etc.

He's a stop-gap until TMM is ready. People are making it out like Griffin has come out and said his long term future is in 6, when as far as I know, the opposite has been said.

Right now if TMM is our first choice 6 then Carty is the backup 6 which seems ridiculous considering we have Moylan and where Carty is at this stage of his development. We aren't signing any halves so what happens if TMM or CLeary go down early next year?? A full season of Carty in the halves? They obviously wont use Moylan there so its either that or we go down our list of kids and bring another one in.

Moylan could of played half a season in the halves this year and be ready to f**king own it next season, if he struggles then give TMM a shot. Doing that just makes so much more sense then moving Cartwright there.

That article is dumb. We are the least conservative team in the comp already the players don't need more leeway. Nathan Cleary, the youngest player in the NRL, who already does most of our general play kicking and our goalkicking as well as getting plenty of ball as our halfback feels like he is being shackled? lol no way.

If he wanted a conservative no thrills gameplan why would he bring Latu from reserve grade to the bench and now starting every week? Why would you put Bryce in the halves if you wanted him to play more conservatively? And Moylan does what ever he wants out there as if he wants or needs more freedom.

rumours are lurker is RLW mole. If true why not post this in RLW? I still steer clear until I hear x player say it publicly.

Until Grevsmuhl comes out and criticises Griffin game plans or mind games the article is bullshit.

My biggest issue with how this season has panned out is the fact we have continued to select players out of there best positions when clearly it has not worked.

You can get away with makeshift's here and there, every now and again but not week in week out.

Personally, as I have said before I don't think Matty Moylan is a 5/8 but he would and should have been selected there before Bryce Cartwright. The balance of the side would have been so much better.

It's largely too late now, we are unlikely to make the eight as I simply don't see us winning 3 or 4 of our remaining games to make the eight. We have won more than two back to back this season and while we once thought we had an easy run in that is no longer this case.
