Titans will win the Grand Final

I think in the third week the Titans home final would be at Suncorp at best. I don't think teams get "home" finals. They're played at the bigger grounds.

my team could well finish bottom 4 of the 8.

the team of those likely to finish top 4 that I would prefer to play is the Titans.

I don't buy the "unbeatable at home" thing.

having said that we need a massive form reversal to make the 8, let alone beat anyone in it.

Prince is the best halfback, without doubt and Friend is the 3rd best hooker. Got it the wrong way around buddy :)

Anyway, I think the Titans will make the prelim finals but will struggle in the game in Sydney. They'll falter there. It's tough for an out of Sydney team to lift for the big stage who isn't a proven dominant team like the Broncos or Storm.

I don't know how anyone can say the Titans don't have the forwards to win it
Laffranchi, Bailey and Harrison alone have plenty of rep jerseys between them and 2 premierships. Throw in Minichiello and Henderson, they have one of the best starting packs in the NRL.

Best hooker and rookie in the game?

FMD, what bias. Friend is garbage compared to Smith, Ennis, Farah and even Ballin.

Titans didn't beat Manly, the ref did.

And good luck winning away from home after your home final gets played.

agreed. But Cartwright is shifting him from the no.6 shirt when he comes back (in todays GCB).

Our team will be:>
1. Zillman

6. Campbell
7. Prince

9. Friend

I don't know where they will play Rat, maybe off the bench cos he can cover all bacline positions. I agree he maybe has played on a year too long.

He shouldn't be in the side. Hasn't played at that level in 10 years & is a liability.

Cartwright won't drop him, but imagine the dummy spit The Rat would have if he did. Could derail your whole campaign, which in my opinion will be a worthwhile, but ultimately fruitless venture.

Coast lack the starch in the forwards for finals footy, but I suppose that was meant to be the case for Wests four years ago too. Just think they are not quite there yet.

if they finish 2nd i can see them making the grand final. 2 homes semis and they would be very hard to beat.

I'm sick to death of hearing every analyst, journalist and commentator praising the Dragons, Dogs, Manly and even Melbourne when the team coming 2nd- the Titans, never even get a mention.
We are just as good as the four mentioned teams, and have beaten all four of them this season. We are unbeateable at home, and have an almost fully-fit squad (O'Dwyer and Rogers will be back any week now).

We also have a killer forward pack, the best no.9 in the game (Friend, IMO), one of the best halfbacks in the game Scott Prince. We also have the man who will likely win Dally M Rookie of the year in Kevin Gordon.

We are on fire at the moment, and we are showing every sign that we can and will win the Grand Final.

So how about some credit from media and commentators alike?

You know why nobody rates the Titans? Because you guys are ABSOLUTELY SH*TE away from home. Your away record is 3-6 (same as the Tigers and Eels and look where they are on the ladder) compared to your 9-0 home record.

Unluckily for the Titans the grand final is going to be played at ANZ on the 4th October not Skilled Park and that is why come grand final day you won't be premiers.

LOL at stg/Ill supporters speaking about premierships like they have a f*cking clue

LOL at Gold Coast Fans speaking about premierships like they have a f*cking clue. You guys have been around for 3 WHOLE years and you want to talk premierships. Play some finals footy first.

And i'm sure there are old St George fans on here who were around in 70's when the unmerged St George last won a premiership. St George and St George Illawarra might be 2 different teams but your wrong many of us supported the pre merged team and DO have a f*cking clue. Gronk!

Agreed. Unfortunately all Saints supporters think the 2009 GF is their god-given right. The media seem to think so too. They'll be dissapointed again, after so much hype- just like every other year for the past 30 years.

Regarding the Titans home finals, I'm 90% sure they work like this:

Week 1: Home final @ Skilled Park.

Provided they win their first game, they will host a Week 2 or Week 3 final, and the NRL will schedule that game at Suncorp Stadium (if I recall correctly such a clause was part of the deal for the QLD government to fund construction of Skilled Park). Not that that should worry the Titans - they will be crowd favourites (as long as they aren't facing the Broncos).

As for the Gold Coast team that should be picked at full strength - I'd go with:

1. Zillman
2. Gordon
3. Tonga
4. Rogers
5. Mead / Walker
6. Campbell
7. Prince
8. Bailey
9. Friend
10. Henderson
11. Laffranchi
12. Minichiello
13. Harrison
---
15. White
16. Meyers
14. Delaney / O'Dwyer
17. Tagataese / Matthews / Cannings / Conn
