Sure...Im not talking about which sponsors have walked away but why would they.

Do they think that people will not buy their product if the team they sposrs has an off field incident?

The reason given is rubbish...noone has ever not bought a product because of an off field incident with a rugby league player.

The guitar belongs to george Lynch...legendary 80s rock guitar player with Dokken and the Lynch Mob...still going today. I cant remember who makes it...some guy in vegas I think...there is only a couple and Lynch has them all I beleive. Good rock/metal player.
You know that for a fact?

Probably quite a few. Andrew is Rugby Union old boy and would be quite familiar with “The Dance of the Flaming Arseholes”,

 Forgot all about the dance! 10 days ago would have been 10 years since I last did that particular jig (a great way to bring in the year 2000!). And yeah, be careful trying to do one too many laps of the yard with the newspaper burning down...*ouch*

Of course I dont know this for a fact.

But come on.... when people buy products or use a service, how many do you think would not choose this product or service because of a footy team indescretion.

If anything its all brand awareness...when someone is making a choice they probably would look closer at a product they have heard of or seen on a footy jersey regardless of where and in what context.

I reckon this would far out way the negative.... lets face it...how many people knew of western union or their services until they sposored the roosters?

Reality is if you are spending a $million to get your product seen do you go with Club A) a good image with players that are well respected Club B) a club with numerous negative media stories and players with a track record of being ar5ehole5?

If I was CEO I know which I'd be choosing.

Brian Smith blasts errant Todd Carney
NEW Sydney Roosters coach Brian Smith served up a both barrels version of the riot act to serial off-field offender Todd Carney last Monday.
We hear the spray was so severe it had the paint peeling off the walls at the club's SFS headquarters. When Smith was finished, senior players Braith Anasta, Anthony Minichiello and Nate Myles stepped in.
Carney's response was a pledge to quit drinking for 12 months.
It sounds good in theory and we seriously hope the talented playmaker sticks to his guns, but let's face it - it's not going to be an easy ride.
One of the most vocal members of the Roosters' senior playing group was fellow serial offender Myles, who explained the perils associated with being branded a "ratbag''.
The Queensland State of Origin forward has ridden the roller-coaster of public humiliation and is another Rooster who has sworn off alcohol in a bid to improve his life.
If there's one club in desperate need of an extreme makeover, both off the field and on it, then it's last year's wooden-spooners.
We're backing respected chairman Nick Politis and senior stars such as Anasta and Minichiello, along with new coach Smith, to help turn the club around.
RENOWNED hard taskmaster Steve Folkes has wasted no time putting his stamp on the Wests Tigers.
While the likes of Benji Marshall and Beau Ryan used to enjoy bouncing around to the latest tunes during weights work in the Tigers' Concord gymnasium, this year it's all business after Folkes banned music at training.
His other opening trick was to turn the air conditioning off.
"We thought he was trying to make it all tropical so it was like training in Townsville,'' one Tiger told us. "No one wanted to ask him what the go was and then when we finally did, he just smiled and said `Oh, you can turn it on if you want'.''
THE newest NRL star hot-spot is the White Revolver nightclub underneath the Swiss Grand Hotel in Bondi.
Willie Mason, Brett Finch and Mick Crocker were all spied there in the past fortnight.

So NOW Todd can give up the piss for a year? Yeah right.
LOL @ Nate Myles stepping in to give advice.

stole the no air con trick from billy johnston. Heard stories of his first visit into the cowboys gym (which may be complete bs) of him hurling the cd player out the front door and ripping the chord out of the wall of the ac and it being gone by the next day. Good way to make an impression. I hope for his own sake he sticks to his booze ban but a bored restless carney may end up being worse then a drunk carney.

Why publically announce that he's quit drinking...it only makes it easier for him to be torn down if he gets caught have a beer on his birthday or something

well then he's obviously too stupid to be playing NRL, if he wants to have a drink for his birthday why not do it at his or a teammates house over a Barby???..surely it couldn't be that difficult.

You obviously forget the incident where Mason and Myles were suspended for allegedly having a couple of quiet beers at home while on a total drinking ban.

weren't they late to training because of it or something???...if so than that was obviously their own fault for letting it get to that point.
