Why? What have I said that makes you think that?
I'm not the one denying the fact I'm interested in what happens with players off the field.

So what are the fascinating stories of the moment ink? Underrated wingers? TV coverage prior to 1998? The NRL Commission?I'd hazard a guess it being ''the game'' as in rugby league ''the greatest game'', not a game as in a match between two teams, see where I'm going?
The only reason Todd Carney is in the news for lighting his friends balls is because advertisers and supporters pay him big dollars to play football. People heavily invest in these players financially and emotionally
Sure. Advertising means nothing. You win. :lol:Bollocks. People invest in the club and the excited expectations of winning each game & maybe even a premiership.
Advertisers & supporters dont pay Carney money. They pay to particpate with their chosen club in the sport.

Maybe so, but you must have a vague reason as to why this would even rate a mention on a national news broadcast and in various newspapers around the country. Carney has a history of doing dumb sh*t. He got rubbed out of the game for over a year for doing dumb sh*t. He's not some random reserve grader. If the Roosters are happy to take the financial risk that is Todd Carney then it's on their heads.the only reason 7 ran with this is because they are trying to make it difficult for the Roosters to get a sponsor
they even lied about the story and the seriousness of it and tried to make it out like it was some random guy
7 are scum. ask Soccer fans
Do you really want to huuuurt me? Do you really want to maaake me cry?How was i to know he neglected to drink from the furry cup,I did not pry into his private life.
BlueScope Lysaght and Canterbury back in 2004 after the Coffs Harbour incident.Has anyone ever gone to buy a product and decided against it because the manufacturers of that product sponsors a team that has a player in it who took a leak in a lane way at 3am in the morning.
Sponsors just want their name to be seen so when people go to buy a product they are aware of that brand when they see it.
It seems like yesterday that Samsung came to Oz but now its a household name.... no one has ever made a decision to buy or not to buy a Samsung TV because of Willie MAson or Nate Myles...
As far as selling papers goes - do numbers of papers sold change that much if a footy player is involved in an incident? You may get a few people who don't generally buy that paper pick it up but they are probably already footy fans to a degree and they will always probably stay that way and are just curious.
Like I keep saying, the bad publicity did not stop any of those parra supporters joining the band wagon last year....or the NRL having a great season in all areas....winning is everything.....good footy is everything...bad behaviour is just fodder for the people who dont like the game and no matter what will never like the game.
Just don't tell Jatz Crackers your theory. Apparently sponsors don't give a sh*t what happens off the field. (LG, Samsung, BlueScope Lysaght anyone :lol
Who's sponsoring the Roosters this season? Sorbent?now you're comparing gang rape to NYE tomfoolery?

Gee, sounds like something Raiders fans would have said in 2006. :lol:yet to be announced
When we start winning due to the on field success of Carney and co I'm sure sponsors will want us
