Tomkins is reportedly on around £300,000 in the UK. There's been talk of him wanting a million to come to the NRL. I call that Bollocks.

He's very gettable at less than $800k I reckon.

IMO the only way we can get to the dollar figure Carney wants is if we offer a 6 year deal which ive never heard of. Given his age and how players redo their deal I wouldn't care about it tbh

If Carney stays you almost make him captain. I've jumped ship for 20k before. Hell I've jumped for the same just to leave a shit situation. If you told me I could make an extra 150k on top locked and it would be locked in for 5 years well.... I would blow you.

Edit - Just on TC. When he was 16 he was offered huge money to go to the roosters but stayed with the raiders with his mates. When he was off contract in 07/08 he turned down better money to stay with his mates. Got sacked and found a club... He would never of ever left the roosters if he wasn't sacked. He loves the sharks now and is best mates with Lewis, Wade and even Beau these days. It would take a big offer for him to FINALLY ditch his mates. IMO this offer from Penrith is it. I can't hold it against him as much as I love him.

We're feeling bad. Life seems to be one of constant depression for Sharks supporters. But,there is a positive, it is a tremendous character builder. Whereas other clubs can have their occasional drama, our lot is one of constant drama. It takes a HUGE amount of inner strength to keep on backing up continually copping this krap. Yet we do. I've been around since well before our birth, and I firmly believe that Sharks supporters are the salt of the earth. It would still be on the table though Frenz, I'm of the opinion that the longer we wait the more he see's the reality of the money and will sign elsewhere. Or perhaps he is giving Sharks the opportunity to work out something for him post footy.
