For the love of God, please no to that parasite Greenberg.

That bloke is corruption and everything that is wrong with the political infighting in league.

That bloke has more skeletons in his closet than Tom Cruise!

Can someone please outline 3 good decisions or moves that Todd Greenburg has overseen as Head of Football?!

Greenberg is a slimey parasite.

Which would be fine if he hadn't completely cocked up everything he touched as head of football.

Castle, meh. I'm gonna go against the grain here and suggest we should get someone who actually gives a f**k about the game of Rugby League as well as the business of Rugby League.

Smith was not good at all. He was more reactionary than the previous regime. How is his discretionary war chest going? How is the integrity unit going? He was making things up as he went. Under smith the game didn't grow, it became more confusing and convoluted both on and off the field than ever. Outside of club membership and Origin the game went backwards with Smith.

As for Greenberg no f**king way.

I'd rather Marina Go over those two. Purely to see the reaction of Buzz. You want someone who will stick it to News? Go is your woman.

Any ceo who is reactionary to that propaganda network known as the Daily Telegraph does not deserve the top job and this is where smith failed miserably. Not to mention his black and white rule about fighting and the shoulder charge, made me want gallop back. That says a lot because I didn't rate gallop highly at all.

Smith was better than Gallop he did achieve some good things but he also did a lot of the same things Gallop got killed for, but because he was the new guy under the new ARLC structure he got a lot of passes. But the reality is he was just way to disconnected from our rugby league culture to run the game. You could point to individual incidents and the reporting of them and see how that had a direct effect on the way the game was run and certain changes that were made.

It is really a sad, sad situation when these two are considered by some as the best there is for the job. It will be dire if one of them is given the nod.

they merely suit the criteria of strong rugby league background....who do you suggest would be better (that actually wants the job) based on this criteria?

A good Head of Football would have guided Dave Smith better in this area, Smith's job was to make $$$ and that he did well. Unfortunately Greenberg was not up to the task, because he doesn't know shit about Rugby League.

Just for starters, anyone who has the balls to fix the rot that has set into the game, to give the referees a directive to clean the shit up in the ruck and enforce the "rules" of the game and piss their "interpretations" off, to cut the gimmicky f**king shit games that exist around the NRL season that are not needed or wanted by the players themselves, to change ticket prices to attract people to go to the actual game instead of having empty seats showing on the broadcast, to fix the ever growing problem of TPA $$$$ and the disparity it is causing in the competition.

You know, the same shit most league fans have been asking for years now, while Greenburg has had the opportunity to do something about it.

That's just for starters.

i want another outsider none of us have ever heard of...

DSmith was an gem and losing him so soon was an absolute tragedy.

I agree to an extent that an outsider would be best.

But given that was the reason Smith was ultimately arsed, I cannot see it happening again.

The clubs could not stand Smith because he was not privy to all the infighting, political crap that goes on in the NRL.

The fact that turd Greenscum was and is Head of Football Operations shows he is CLEARLY not up to the top job.

If you look at Smith's role from a purely business and operational perspective, he was really quite good.

The issues to me stemmed from how the game itself and rules surrounding the game and its agenda driven mentality.

The clubs want Greenscum because he was "one of them" and they like the idea of having bloke around who is seemingly on their side.

I wouldn't trust that prick with a fifty cent piece, let alone a billion dollar commodity that rugby league now is.
