"Near zero" :joy: I love when nuffys talk rubbish without having done the most basic research.

He was events & promotions manager at Cricket NSW for six years in the 90's, and has degrees from two different Sydney universities.

It’s shame he can’t produce a strategic plan with all them degrees!

Every off season Greenburg should just send all NRL players to the North of Australia
to catch and collect canetoads...
that'll keep 'em outta trouble and regain the public faith.

That's a terrible idea, we would have players licking cane toads left, right and centre trying to get high!

Proved my point nicely.

Lets get a guy to run the NRL that ACTUALLY has some experience running a large organisation effectively. Events Manager to Bulldogs was a ridiculous leap, then a cushy job at Stadium Aus because of his Bulldogs ties, then straight to running the NRL? Where the hell is the relevant experience in there?
I get that shitting on the current CEO is sport for people on this forum but try to think critically for even half a second. Your point was proven at all because you obviously did no research.

Because I have to spell it out, here is the chronology of Todd's experience dating back to the 90's that I was able to locate fairly easily via a google search:

93-98: Event & Promotions Manager @ CNSW
98-01: Operations & Events Manager @ Bulldogs
01-08: General Manager @ Stadium Australia
08-13: Bulldogs CEO
13-16: NRL Head of Football
16-now: NRL CEO

I could be wrong, but between 2001 and 2008 while he was GM, Stadium Australia hosted a number of fairly memorable events (RWC 2003, Socceroos WCQ 2005 instantly come to mind, not to mention the 2004 GF of course), signed two naming rights deals, bought the Bulldogs back as a home team after a short-term move to the Showground, had Souths relocate from the SFS to the venue under a long-term deal, and even had the Wests Tigers as a home team for a few years there as well.

His work as Bulldogs CEO in the first couple of years generally goes unquestioned - the club was a shambles, had just lost most of the '04 premiership squad, Folkes as coach, finished with the spoon in 2008 and were losing sponsors left, right & centre. His early tenure saw that turn around almost immediately with a 2nd place finish in 2009, a whole bunch of sponsors coming on board and some astute signings.

I don't understand where you got "cushy job at Stadium Aus because of his Bulldogs ties then straight into running the NRL" when he was Bulldogs CEO and NRL Head of Football prior to becoming the NRL CEO. Two roles and eight years separate those two items.

Despite all that I'm actually not sure he's the best man for the job, but to suggest he doesn't have experience in running large organisations effectively is laughable.

If people think sacking the CEO will effect change that leads to better governance in the greater NRL organisation, then there’s a lot to learn.

As simple as some think the game is, it has that many contributing factors put the game in this position.

The clubs, the players, the media and their relationship with the game, social media and even the fans.

If it takes several years to turn clubs around after events like Coffs Harbour, bulldogs mad Monday etc then how long do you think it will take the whole organisation?

I won’t wholly defend the NRL but the biggest factor, in my opinion, is the game/players/clubs V the media.

Fix that relationship and it improves exponentially.

Players can be dumb as dogshit but we’re now seeing historical events resurfacing to bring the game and its players into disrepute today.

Social media is a f**king curse on society and for all the good it does, it can ream the game ten fold.

Just filling in the gaps for timmah
No you are using it as some sort of criticism of his experience as you keep harping on about it.

He’s a f**king aerobics instructor
Look it up
Aerobics instructor
88-92ish
Oatley squash/gym

It has zero relevance to his role or his qualifications and suitability for that role, but the way you go on you would think it was the main reason he got the job. Those sorts of posts are the reason the majority of your posts can not be taken seriously as they show you are more about your agendas and potshots than a serious conversation.

NRL clubs are by and large SMEs, which is different to running an organisation the size of the NRL.
