Todd Greenberg has pretty much said one Sydney team will be relocated.

Greenberg should walk into fox and nine studios and tell them that due to lack of crowds they would prefer the Thursday game to be on fta on Saturday arvo or night. If they want to keep the Thursday game prime time slot and broadcast the game to all of Australia they need to “show the Nrl the money”!

Yep all good in theory, but apparently Fox is having financial issues,I doubt they would open the purse strings further on a signed contract, much as I like your proposal.

No to mention we did, hence why we are getting $110million a year more in media revenue. It was interesting Ch9 decided to sell the Saturday game back to Fox, they could have hung on to it if they felt it would be a bigger revenue generater than the money Fox offered to buy its exclusivity.

Prior to Super Rugby the Shute Shield was the top flight of RU in Australia. Ironically that all happened in the 90's too so you argument doesn't stack up. Shall I assume that you don't have any real evidence then?

You fool. No one and I mean no one watched that crap! You idiot! What they did watch was Sydney's BIG LEAGUE IN DROVES! How dumb! To insult the code the way you do is mind-boggling!

@Jimmy Wiggle mate Stallion is not aware of the popularity of the Queensland Cup today nor does he seem to be aware how big the BRL was back in the 80's (yes TV exposure and all). He is also blissfully aware that the NSW Cup had the funds to buy the best Queensland players and eventually allow the Broncos to enter because of poker machine money and pretty much no other factors. He doesn't seem to give a sh!t about traditional clubs if they are not from Sydney.

How dumb and dislexic!

When you say droves, do you mean the sub 13k crowd avg in 1994 (the halcyon year for the game apparently) for Sydney clubs?

If my team was moved out of Sydney, I would still follow them on TV, but it would be the last NRL game I attend. I currently attend about 25 games a year. I would continue to follow my junior team and attend their games when I travel to my home town to see my family. The amount of money I spend on Rugby League would reduce massively.

They seem to have a few fans these days - so much so that you also seem to be in awe of the number of fans they have attending the Manly v Warringah derby game

Such irony

Tell you PR. I've noticed you two gibbering fools changing up on me? I don't care as you have embarrassed yourselves in the past on this website. What I will do is not support any WA side whilst you condone the weakening of this envied competition in Sydney. From.my honest point of view there exists room for additional clubs.

If you keep opening the door for ridicule when you are insulting people, don't blame others for stepping through it! Now back to the question, which year where these droves of fans attending games in Sydney?

And see the code impacted negatively in its biggest city again. I think you should have seen the raw and genuine responses from Benji Marshall and Joel Thompson last week. They encapsulated what the fans would do . Basically a massive loss of established supporter bases would occur . The only proactive action would be the reincarnation of the Bears. This would gain back a supporter base of over 200000plus. That would be the only "relocation " the fans would stomach! That's it. Go back! Do your maths : Divide Sydney's and the Illawarras populations combined, by 9 clubs. Then work out what clubs like Canberra and Newcastle have and the maths for 9 and probably TEN NRL clubs in Sydney makes good business and development sense. But you dudes don't do the math ! I can see that!

On the television screens of Australia! It's called 7 out of the top ten tv programs consistently achieved through the 80s and 90s. You ignoramus! That's the measure of support for these clubs you so constantly disrespect.

What about if they had no choice but to move out of Sydney or die?
If they were broke I'd support the move but would no longer attend NRL games. If they were forced to move to allow another team, I would no longer financially support the NRL

Not taking a dig just curious, would you not attend away games?

assuming only 1 Sydney team had to move for whatever reason, they would still play a fair few games in Sydney against the remaining teams, plus probably a "heritage" game
