Sandro didn't look to good as he limped off, missing him already.

Nil all at HT with WBA parking 11 players in the box for most of the game so far.

Come onnnnn Becks!

this old standard pops up every transfer window

honestly, where would he play, too slow for a wing and no chance of playing ahead of Modric, Parker or Sandro.

He'd be good for selling shirts but thats about it.

Bar the last two minutes we were horrible when Livermore went off.
In fairness though, neither Bassong or Kranjcar have had much game time.
Nervy win but we will definitely take it!
Bale quiet again, I know the squad is fatigued but he has to wake up, I think he believes in his own hype and is still inconsistent. He was better than he was against Swansea though.

If King and Gallas are both unfit for the next game, I'd assume Dawson will be called back into the squad, on the bench at least. Bassong makes more sense as he has more match fitness but Bassong and Kaboul tend not to partner well, which is understandable as the former is our fifth choice centre-defender.
Hopefully one of Parker, Sandro or Lennon is fit against Everton. If Livermore has anything more than a mere head knock we could be in serious trouble.

Twiz, re Becks, I think you seem to be forgetting VDV is very slow. Becks is still a fantastic crosser and like VDV can move in-field. It's no different than if Lennon was injured when VDV comes in, at least with Becks we could keep VDV in the centre and not stick him on the right. Honestly, what do you have against him? If he's there for depth then why not? If we got him for a good price he'd be fantastic for merchandise, and as cover.

I dont have anything against him, I actually like him but now that we have Parker I just dont see where he would fit, we just got so many mids but I guess when you see players like Kranky coming on today, I could have played better than him.

We got an 8 day break now till we play Everton at home so I reckon we'll have King, Dawson and Kaboul to pick from if Gallas is not right, also Lennon and Parker should be right. We just had to get through todays game.

Becks will go back to LA and we apparently put in a bid for Hoilett last night which probably means we aint interested in Becks.

That's fair enough, good point actually. Frankly I'd prefer him to Kranjcar and/or Pienarr on the bench, but he'd definitely be there for his marketability.
Agreed, we've gotten through a tough, congested period with (in our last seven) four wins, two draws and a loss. I was panicking near the end of this game hehe. It's amazing considering we've been missing Lennon, Defoe, Huddlestone, Dawson and King for either a few, a lot or all of those games.
That's great news regarding Hoilett, we kind of need a winger back-up pretty quickly. A top quality striker might be a pipe-dream but even a decent striker that is match-fit should be good enough to cover for Adebayor. Good thing is with Dawson back, the congested period finished and time off for a bit, our defensive players should recover and hopefully we won't have the situation we had today again.

It appears the Pato talk was all nonsense which I find very believable

Leandro was and still is our main target and apparently we are only 2 mill off in valuation.

I know it's a cliche, but if it's only £2 million we are off by, come on Daniel!
So I'm guessing he hasn't been sold yet because no-one has met his valuation yet - are we still the club he wants to come to?

By the way, five points ahead of Chelsea, six points ahead of Arsenal with a game in hand over both.
Amazing.

Cheers!

Hey guys, Harry has said Daws will return against Cheltenham - makes perfect sense and hopefully we can start easing him in to the league side over the month - off the bench of course.

Sucks to hear about Sandro, hopefully either Parker or Lennon returns for the Everton game; if the latter returns but not the former, we can keep Defoe up front and try VDV in the centre with Modric. It probably wouldn't work well at all, so maybe starting Livermore and benching Defoe would be better.
If Parker is injured still but Ledley King or Michael Dawson return to the side, I'd even suggest moving someone like Kaboul up to defensive midfield.
Who knows though, hopefully most of our injured players will be back.

I saw we are apparently making a £15 million bid for both Hoilett and Samba. A centre-defender might not be a bad idea if Bassong leaves given King and Gallas' injury problems and Dawson's lack of match fitness.
