I stayed up to watch the full game, it was a fantastic experience; we were utterly dominant, and even though some will say we got three of those goals against nine men, we still looked a class apart throughout the entirety of the match.
If we can do that to one of our biggest contenders for the top four, then maybe there is a flicker of hope for this season that we can make the Champions League again.
Modric's goal was awesome, me and my dad both jumped up and roared in applause when he scored! It was a fantastic goal and his celebration implies to me that if we succeed this year he will stay.
Both of Adebayor's goals were crackers, as Twiz said it is amazing what difference a quality striker makes.
Him and Defoe look to be forming a great partnership, Harry's focus has to be on keeping them fit.
Overall every player should hold their heads high, it was great that Gareth hit form as well - though it was against an out of position Skrtel.

It's hard to make a top three performers for the match so I will do a top five;

Modric
Bale
Parker
Walker
Adebayor

In no particular order. Our defence was superb, though they weren't really tested.

When you talk about our defence its amazing what a difference Ledley King makes and Kaboom is coming along very nicely. Not missing Dawson at all atm.

Modric and Parker look like they have played together for years and we've still got Sandro to come back.

The first goal looks simple but his reactions and control were perfect, he sprung on the loose ball, tapped it up over the keeper and calmly slotted it. It was a great touch; a simple, but good, goal.
The first one might not be a cracker but the second one surely was. Perfect first touch and volleys it past the goalie, giving Reina no chance.

I am surprised by how good his first touch and control is.
As the commentators remarked in the game, he cost nothing compared to Carroll and is several times the player!

It's amazing considering we are sporting so many injuries in our defence. We've got Walker and Corluka for the right-back position, and Assou-Ekotto and Rose for the left-back position. We are missing Gallas and Dawson through injury, and yet can serve up King and Kaboul.
Agreed regarding the midfield, many were critical about only signing Parker and Adebayor but both of them have turned out to be superb buys - at least so far - they both have gelled very well with the team.

Scary to think that Huddlestone, Sandro, Lennon (?) are all out, not to mention that VDV isn't fully fit either.

It will be interesting to see how we juggle the squad over the season, particularly given that VDV is a player that won't accept being on the bench all the time.
My full-strength line-up is;
Friedel
Walker
Dawson
King
Assou-Ekotto
VDV
Parker
Modric
Bale
Defoe
Adebayor

In the game, we seemed to be playing with a right winger from fullback; Walker was having a field day by playing in that role. It exposes us in defence but that's just the way we play. When VDV came on for Kranjcar he played in the centre and Walker kept going forward like he had when Kranjcar was on, it leaves us vulnerable on the fringes if a team counters. That's the way I would play it personally, it's also good to note that Adebayor kept moving onto the left and right wings throughout the game, usually to hold the ball up. If Lennon starts improving/playing very well then it makes it less complicated.

that would be my 11 as well

Rose and Pienaar are also on the injured list.

VDV played against Souusers but he is not match fit which is why he sat on the bench for most of the game.

I think Ledly King is by far our most important player, we'll put him in mothballs now for a few weeks, as we have a rather easy run for a while now. Having said that it was the easy runs that killed us last year.

Walker does need to tighten up his defence a bit, he can be too attacking some time. Wouldn't mind see him on the wing for a game or two.

Sandro is back! He was named to play in the Carling Cup today, but I don't know how he went.

He and Gallas played the game out which is good, both returing from injury, we played our young guys in the midfield again, Livermore and Carroll and Dos Santos and these kids have been amazing back up, Dos Santos was quiet and got subbed.

Bassong also played pretty well

We played with Pav up front with DVD coming back from injury. Pav hardly touched the ball all morning, we lost in a penalty shoot out thanks to Pav, missed his shot all together, seems disinterested.

Gomez had a shocker and nearly let them in a few times, he cant take the ball cleanly and he went the wrong way on every penalty shoot, he really seems to have fallen out of favour.

We have no luck with injuries. Hopefully he recovers well and as quickly as possible. I've been missing the big Thudd :(

He'll be out till around Christmas but he's only required for depth in this current team, he's got Modric, VDV, Parker and Sandro ahead of him atm.
