The whole thing is a shambles. West Ham should not be allowed to move into it because it re locates them to an area already covered by a league team. They were also promised public money to assist them which was not offered to Leyton Orient and Spurs which is also illegal.

Spurs should be allowed to move there for the same reason. It is again a relocation to an different area that is covered by other teams.

The ground should be our national athletics stadium. Reduce the capacity by all means, but the legacy from these expensive olympics should not be a small stadium for a sport that has the money to look after itself.

Maybe the RFL should buy it and turn it into there national stadium. Union has Twikenham, Football can have Wembley, we'll have the olympic site. We'll share it with athletics.

Its very common for Spanish and Portugese teams to put in really high realease clauses into contracts.

Its also just as common to completely ignore them and offer what he is worth.

City also want Rossi and probably would sell you Adebayor IMO. That would be funny if they did.

Always liked Rossi, i would like him back at OT. Not sure why though, or where we would play him. :D

Any word? Seems pretty quiet from Spurs lately, which I guess some would consider to be very strange.

They are persistent.. Appears as though they are again appealing to the high court to be able to bring a claim again after losing there very recently

He's pretty much a lock in but maybe not till January, same deal as Sandro as thier season goes past our transfer window.

Biggest issue atm is Modric, some huge offers in for him atm despite Levy saying he's not for sale, money talks.

the young Barca midfielder apparently arrives on Monday (Ceballos)

We also allegedly picked up a striker, English born Mexican Antonio Pedrosa but he looks more like an investment than anything else, got him on a free but failed a medical yesterday and went back to Mexico, he'll qualify as home grown when he's fit.

Hutton to Villa supposedly this week but we really are struggling to reduce our squad size, which we need to do to upgrade some contracts.

Also looks like Leandro could now be finalised this window rather than in the January window as he bought his 3 rd party ownership out, some talk that he has already signed but thats from Twitter so who knows ?

Luka Modric: Daniel Levy 'broke agreement' to let me leave Tottenham

• 'Gentleman's agreement' made between chairman and player
• Croatian plans to force through move to Chelsea this summer

The Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric has reiterated his desire to leave for Chelsea this summer and accused his chairman, Daniel Levy, of going back on a gentleman's agreement between them that he would be allowed to move if a bigger club came in for him.

Chelsea have already had a £22m offer for Modric turned down by Spurs at the end of June, and the Croatian midfielder immediately sought talks with Levy on his return to pre-season training this week.

Levy confirmed after those talks on Thursday that Modric would not be leaving White Hart Lane and that the player understood the club's stance and was happy to remain at the club.

However, Modric told the Croatian newspaper, Sportske Novosti, that he had not considered the possibility of Spurs not allowing him to leave.

"I haven't thought about it at all because [not letting me go] would definitely not be good for anyone. I have already told the chairman that last summer he said we would find a mutually satisfactory agreement if a club like Chelsea came in.

"I hope that eventually he will understand the situation and that we will reach an agreement and go our separate ways in an appropriate manner."
Modric also revealed that in his meeting with the Spurs chairman Levy had said he was happy to let the midfielder spend the season rotting in the reserves if he did not honour his contract.

"A lot has been published in the press about the meeting with Levy, who gave the public a twisted account of what happened. I must say that I am genuinely disappointed about what Levy said to me. He didn't care about what I was telling him. It all only convinced me further that I was right to consider moving on to another club.

"I reminded the chairman of our gentleman's agreement when we were in Dubrovnik last summer and I agreed a contract extension with Tottenham. Then I had an open chat with Levy – that if a bigger club came in with a concrete offer, we would consider it and agree the best solution for all concerned.

"The chairman said, 'OK, we'll sit and talk [about any offers]'. Now Levy doesn't want to talk to me and said there is no possibility that I can leave Spurs.

"He threatened me – he said if I didn't accept the club's stance, they would make me sit on the bench or in the stands."
Modric knows he is highly sought after by the Stamford Bridge club and their new manager, André Villas-Boas.

"There is no doubt that Chelsea want me – they sent a concrete offer to Tottenham. I know that the new Chelsea boss said he wants me in his team. Of course I am flattered by this interest in me, it's a club that all players dream of joining, fighting for every competition available.

"It wasn't a snap decision, I talked a long time with my family and people whose opinions I respect. I thought about it, weighed it all up, and finally decided this was the best option."

Modric seems to be behaving like a spoiled little boy, this is what can happen when you get tapped up via the media.

He's been told by Levy that he is not going anywhere at the moment and he seems to have settled in OK at training once he got back on the pitch with the boys but the media will no doubt look for mileage out of anything they can pick up.

There are also some close to the club that have said those quotes are not direct quotes from Modric, they are allegedly from his agent who is obviously trying to get a big deal done so he can make a few dollars out of.

The Guardian have reproduced that article which originated from Coratia, Modric is in London with the squad atm, and his agent lives in Croatia.

This all originated from a meeting between Modric and Levy last Monday so its pretty old news.

Harry Redknapp, manager of Tottenham Hotspur

The 18-year-old hast spent the last seven years with the Spanish giants at youth level, but Spurs were rumoured to be set to sign the teenager earlier this year.

Ceballos, predominantly an attacking midfielder who can also play up front, had previously spent time training with the north London club.

Spurs technical co-ordinator Tim Sherwood was impressed with the youngster during his earlier time with Tottenham.

"Cristian trained hard and showed some real quality when he originally spent time here towards the end of last season and was even involved in some of the First Team training," he told the club's official website.

"There was other interest in him too. He needs to be patient and if he can fulfil his potential we believe he can play at the top level."

Ceballos is Tottenham's second signing of the summer, after the free transfer capture of former Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel.
