Sandro out for 3-4 months after having an op on his knee yesterday.

Picked up a knee injury in Copa America.

Bad news for the kid as he was our best player towards the end of last season.

Souleymane deal agreed

18 July 2011

513Share

We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Souleymane Coulibaly to join the Club.
The 16-year-old striker hit nine goals in four games for the Ivory Coast during the recent Under-17 World Cup - which included a hat-trick against Brazil and four against Denmark - to secure the golden boot and equal the tournament record set by former Liverpool striker Florent Sinama Pongolle, who achieved the milestone with three more games ten years ago.
Souleymane had previously been part of the youth team of Italian side AC Siena.

Evey kid that comes out of the Ivory Coast is the new Drogba.

This kid is 16 and has been offered a part in our top 25 in order to get him to Spurs, alot of other clubs were after him.

fee of €12.5 mill accepted by Roma for Mirko Vucinic, personal terms being sorted and medical expected early next week

never seen the guy play

Dos Santos fee agreed with Undies (€8 mill) but he wants to go to Seville, Undies have offered him higher wagers and CL footy but he speaks Spanish and he dont want to go to Italy

A bit more action expected over the next week or so as well

Montenegrin apparently.

I know we desperately need new strikers and I've never seen him play but a €12.5mill signing hardly gets my juices flowing, then again VDV and Sandro were only €8mill and €6mill each.

Maybe Hybrid Tiger can fill us in. He has a conversion rate of 1 goal in 3 games and plays as a left sided wide playing striker.

Alot of activity atm, expect more action over the next week and some pretty hot names being tossed around, not game to mention any atm.

Sounds good, any hints as to what positions those hot names play? I looked him up by the way and it sounds like Roma really wanted to keep him, considering he plays as a winger there I am assuming he will better here as a striker.

None will sign especially not Robben but if modric is worth £40m+ Robben is €100m
just to start a negotiation

I would laugh if it happened though, Europa league for Robben  dude wanted out if we missed cl

you guys think you have prestige on the Europe stage

I dont recall anyone saying that.

I dont know where all this Robben stuff came from, no truth in it at all. We have spoken to Marko Marin but I'm not sure how seriously as he plays in the same position as Bale.

I'm sure some of these journos just pick this stuff up from some nuffies Twitter.

midfielders and strikers

not sure why we would be chasing midfielders when we already have Lennon, Modric, Sandro, Bale VDV and Huddlestone.

That was my inclination to be honest, we already have one of the best midfields in the competition, there's really not much more we can do to improve it without spending big, unnecessary money. Strikers I can understand, personally I would keep Pavlyuchenko and sell the rest, and if we get Vucinic (who I think will be a very good signing) and Leandro, then we are looking pretty good for next year.

I would still rather we signed another top-quality striker like Benzema, I'd imagine he wouldn't be too expensive if Real are looking to offload him. I would ideally have Benzema starting and Vucinic playing as a bench forward, and interchanging them for different games. If we have money to spend we may as well use it.

What I'm surprised about is that none of those "hot names" are defenders, that is really quite strange. No doubt our strike force is the first priority, but gee, I think we need maybe one very good fullback and one very good centre-back along with the new strikers, some depth signings and we should be set. Assuming of course we have that much money.
