Deacon, 40mill and Drogba sounds great! However if Modric genuinely wants to leave we may not have much say in the matter, I'd imagine though that it will be a bigger offer than the 22mill.

Well, if Modric goes and Defoe goes, that should free up a tonne of cash to buy a dynamo striker to partner Leandro. Must focus on retaining VDV, Bale and Sandro.

"I wish to make it absolutely clear, as I have said previously, that none of our key players will be sold this summer. We are building a team for the future to consistently play at the highest level and retaining quality players is crucial to that.


"In respect of Luka Modric, we are not prepared to sell, at any price, to Chelsea Football Club or any other club.


"We made our stance on this issue abundantly clear in writing to Chelsea. They chose to ignore it and then subsequently made the offer public.
"For the avoidance of any doubt, let me reiterate that we shall not enter into any negotiations whatsoever, with any Club, regarding Luka.

They have not spoken to Modric and the article that was plastered all over the British press yesterday was bullshit as Modric is on a boat on vacation atm and hasn't spoken to any reporters in the last few days.

btw on the movement front, expect a few to be leaving very soon, rumoured to be JJ, Palacios, Bentley and Defoe and possibly 2MP which means we'll start to get more pro active in getting players in (hopefully)

Good news I guess, I like Jenas, Defoe and Crouch but I guess if we are cleaning our roster out these players have to move on. Selling Defoe in particular should free up quite a bit of money.

I was wondering why Modric suddenly changed his tune, saying he wants to go to Chelsea and he doesn't want to stay after only mere weeks ago saying he wants to stay and loves it here. That is very damning if it's true, and I think quite a few people could get into a lot of trouble.
