no I dont read the British Press but I just saw his name when I googled Modric Transfer, some of those links are just crazy

Madrid definitely made an inquiry a few months back before the transfer window opened

if you've seen any of Harry's quotes, some people worth 20mill wouldn't be fit to lace Modric's boots, obviously in reference to Henderson's transfer

people making out like Jordan henderson is bad, he will develop into a massive player for liverpool plus for english players you add about 30% to the transfer fee... and 20mill for modric is fine, if not a little over priced

but with FFP coming in next season you have to spend that little bit extra for a top young english talent, its like arsenal, Gervinho from Lille, who was basically the best player in the double winning team will cost them about 12mill euros,

they also going for a young english kid from southampton alex oxlade chamberlain and they wont settle for anything less than 14mill for a 18yr old playing in Div 3

for some reason english players are 30%+ more on transfer fees

That new rule where you have to have a certain amount in the team + there isn't a large amount of them up to the level of being in a top team. A lot of teams are largely foreign players so they the demand is high for good young English players, they know they can get an exaggerated figure for them.
