Lol Sneijder smh go away
Arsenal has 100 million pounds to spend. There is no way we're going to spend 100 million on signings, there is no reason why we cant spend say 15m on Cahill, 25m on Hazard and another 20-30m on one of Kaka or Sneijder and then set aside a chunk of the rest to pay for whatever they make over our 'cap'. And don't forget with the sale of Fabregas and Nasri, we don't just have their fee money but also as much as 200k a week in wages off our books.
If the will is their we have the means to afford Kaka/Sneijder.
And about Hazard specifically, reports today are saying Arsenal and Hazard have agreed to personal terms (his wage) and the only thing left is for Arsenal and Lille to agree on a fee. Lille value him at 26 million, word is Wenger believes he's worth as much as 35million and would be willing to go that far because he thinks Hazard is a genuine world class top tier player. He sees him becoming the next big thing.
As for Sneijder, he and Van Persie are teammates for Holland and good friends, Sneijder wants to play with him and Van Persie has been urging Wenger to get him.
Wenger needs to make his new captain happy or RVP will be in the same position Fabregas/Nasri were in this time next year.
I think we'll sign 3 big names before the window is out.
Well if the 100 million warchest claims can be doubted, then so can a rumour like that.Lets be honest, you nor anybody else apart from Wenger and the board know how much Arsenal have to spend.
I think you'll find Sneijder and Van Persie arent "great friends" either.
Wish I shared your optimism with regards to signing. An article today says Wenger has only offered 6mil plus add ons for Cahill.
Well if the 100 million warchest claims can be doubted, then so can a rumour like that.
And even if it is true, obviously like any negotiation you don't start with your entire budget as your first offer. You lowball, they highball, you try to meet somewhere in the middle. If it's true we offered 12m for Jagielka, then we'll be willing to give 15-18 for Cahill who is younger and better.
Barcelona's first offer for Fabregas was well below 30 million.
He only just turned 29...he's still got good years left in him.geeze how olds he now, i'd be pissed if Liverpool brought an outfield player of his age
Real Madrid in crisis.
By this time next year:
Ozil -> Liverpool
Ronaldo -> United or City
Benzema -> Arsenal
