Mesut Ozil when he was at Bremen... We could have picked him up for under 20M.

We shied away from Frank Ribery at the 25M mark...

We've stopped bidding for Cesc Fabregas at 35M...

IMO those 3 players are better than Gareth Bale... And we weren't willing to continue at half the price of Bale.

Being a Seville fan I've been watching Nevas for years and no way is he better than Bale.

I agree its stupid money but if we get it its good business, I'd like to see who we would buy to replace him but time is getting on and we are running out of time to get replacements in so as each day passes it looks unlikely and Levy wont budge on the valuation for now.

You could argue all day about who is worth what but at the end of the day a player is only worth what someone is willing to pay for them.

For example we pay 17 million for Paulinho and yet Chel$ki fork out 40 million for a guy who cant crack a permanent spot in the Brazilian team and City paid something similar for Courtinho who is in the same boat.

I think what Fabregas did at Arsenal over a number of seasons outweighs Bales fabulous last season.

Ozil is more of an unknown for the premier league... But from what he's hewn so far he's a more consistent player IMO.
