Madrid needed a player like Sneijder, so it's a good buy for them. Unfortunately we still need a player like this as well, and we coulda had Sneijder at the beginning of the summer for several million euros cheaper than what Madrid paid. Sadly, our smartest man off the field, Carboni, got ousted ,and the current powerbrokers are clueless. Rest assured if not for nepotism, we'd have Sneijder and maybe picked up a more competent forward than Zigic (or bought Zigic for much cheaper). It's very frustrating, because we have the core of a very good side + great youth, but dumb politics seems like ruining everything.
