Plays for Beyer Leverkusen and is Shevchenko's striker partner for Ukraine.

He is not a bad player, but really nothing better then what we already have and i really can not see the point in buying him..

Kristian Sarkies - Adelaide United

Fred - DC United (officially)

Joseph Keenan (24yr old englishman, played 1st XI for Chelsea in 02/03 before badly breaking leg, went on loan to a dutch side 18 months ago and stayed there til now) - Melbourne Victory

Keenan plays left wing, so it might mean that Alessandro will be let go as well now that Fred has gone, meaning Melb can still sign one more overseas player

very interesting policy that the Jets are taking. they seem to be lumping all of their hopes on signing a striker from South America. these guys can be great, but many of them don't adjust to more physical leagues around the world. could be a risky move.

Not at all. Firstly he is more of an attacking midfielder who can play upfront. Secondly Mark Bridge was our leading golascorer last season & Joel Griffiths was 2nd. Prieto could be brilliant and has the right pedigree, but if he isn't then its no real loss. I would expect him to be used off the bench unless he turns out to be better than expected and forces his way into the starting team.

You can expect another 2 Sth Americans to be signed for the Jets, one a Brazillian striker, the other ex Middlesborough striker Hamilton Ricard or Rodriguez to return.

i was aware of these negotiations and that was what i was mainly talking about. Van Egmond really has decided to chase after South American players.

while this will be great if it pays off, Melbourne Victory did bring three out and really only struck gold with one. i just hope it pays off for the Jets and am pretty excited fif they land Ricard

has been some talk that he could return as he appears to have missed out on the contract that he was expecting to get when he left Newcastle. don't know how far it has progressed or the likelihood of it happening.

The Sth Americans are just the icing on the cake. The cake was signed long ago.
