I think Bale would be wasted as striker, you need to utilize his pace to get the best out of him.

Yeah definitely. I am reluctant in putting Ronaldo as striker so thats why i put the Bale at striker suggestion.

It just goes to show the lack of options Madrid have with their strikers.

I'd like to see how Bale would go at striker. To utilise his pace player like Modric or Isco should lob the ball over the defenders from half way so that Bale can use his pace to beat the defenders and possibly get a shot away.

I think it moreso highlights the fact that RM just want to buy the best players they can, just because they can, with no thought to team structure.

I mean why would anyone pay so much money for Bale when they have Ronaldo in the team, who is also a left sided forward player ?

They needed to get a striker during the transfer period, instead they got a winger.

I think you can almost say the same thing for other teams.

I always though Neymar wouldn't fit into the Barca system. Playing his way out of tight spaces, it just didn't seem like his game. But he is going alright at the moment so i guess i was wrong.

Interesting stats.

Yeah but those stats for Ronaldo are his worst of the last 6 years.

He wanted to leave the season before but Fergie told him to stick around for the season. He spent the whole season sulking and iirc started the season with an ankle injury.

The season before he finished with 31 goals in the PL and 43 in total. Bale has never been close to that.

Bayern Munich are just signing all the best players in their league. Gotze now Lewandowski. I thought Real Madrid would pursue hard for Lewandowski cos they need a quality striker.

Bobby rejected the Franco's, TWICE

"There was an immoral offer from Real Madrid," the striker's representative was quoted as saying by Spiegel Online.

Bayern signed Götze and Lewandowski for LESS than what the Franco's signed Asier Illarramendi for

Bayern signed Götze, Neuer, Lewandowski, Shaqiri, Mandzukic and Dante for what the Franco's paid for Bale

Our first deal of the summer window and it's a big one:

Ligue 1 - Chelsea and PSG agree terms over £50m Luiz deal

Paris St-Germain have agreed terms with Chelsea to sign Brazilian defender David Luiz, subject to a medical and personal terms.

PA Sport

The transfer fee is reported to be £50 million – a deal that would smash the world record transfer for a defender.

A statement on Chelsea's official website read: "Chelsea Football Club and Paris Saint Germain have agreed terms for the transfer of David Luiz to the French club.

"The move is now subject to David Luiz agreeing personal terms with PSG and passing a medical examination."

The 27-year-old joined Chelsea from Benfica in January 2011 and was reportedly attracting interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but now PSG appear to have won the race for his signature.

Luiz was primarily used in defensive midfield last season by Jose Mourinho after being unable to break up the central defensive partnership of John Terry and Gary Cahill.

Luiz, who played against PSG in the Champions League quarter-finals for Chelsea, has two years remaining on the deal signed when he moved to Stamford Bridge and his sale represents a healthy profit.

The funds would be used to reinvest in the squad, with Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa reportedly the number one target.

PSG are out of their minds for paying that.

50 million Pound for our 4th choice CB and 3rd choice DM. Good bit of business that.

Love the bloke he was a character and a great club man. Will never forget that performance and penalty in Munich.

That's PSG's only signing allowed this summer under the FFP sanctions unless they sell players (e.g. Matuidi/Cavani?).

50 mil? I'm not an expert on Chelsea or Luiz but surly this is paying way over the odds?

Yeah, it's overs. He's a £20m player. He has his strengths, but he's got some pretty bad ones for each of the two positions he's realistically vying for. Especially for us.

At CB he's too rash and undisciplined. At CM he's far too rushed in possession and lacks game intelligence.

Physically he's a beast, and his technique is almost exceptional for a CB. He'll fit in well at PSG as a central defender. Especially in the domestic league.

Yep. The two of them used to live near each other too. They were friends as kids apparently.
