I must admit I'm flabbergasted at all the clubs paying out their coaches in the current environment of reduced grants, minimal to no gate receipts and licensed clubs struggling. The Broncos showing that you don't get/stay rich by pissing your money down the toilet.

Not so much the amount but the fact it was a 6 year deal

I dare say that Slebold will also be available soon.

Good, he is a dud. The media and the Broncos fell for it.
I have never seen a coach so overhyped by the media after one season.
The person or persons that gave him a 6 year deal should go aswell.

After winning the comp in 2014, Souths had gone stale under Maguire. Seibold came in with new ideas and was fortunate to get Inglis back after his ACL, and have the likes of Cook and Murray emerge in his side as well. There is rarely a single reason for teams to achieve success just as there isn't a single reason for them to fail.

I agree with Gus on this. You don't just forget how to coach. It's not that Seibold cannot coach where he could 2 years ago, it's that he needs some help and he needs better players. He has no Cook, no Murray, no Inglis, no Sam Burgess, no John Sutton now. The entire spine is abysmal. It's the worst Broncos roster they've ever had.

The radio is reporting Barrett has officially signed with the dogs .Would have liked the club to announce a few signing before hand.

Panthers boss Brian Fletcher has issued a stern hands off edict to rival clubs looking to launch a raid on Penrith’s rising stars Stephen Crichton and Matt Burton.
With the Bulldogs set to make the announcement about new coach Trent Barrett official, Canterbury-Bankstown has also targeted Crichton and Burton as the ideal recruits for 2022.
But Fletcher told Fox Sports the Panthers were well advanced in terms of contract extensions for the young gun pair and planned to retain them at the foot of the mountains.
The Panthers boss also stressed coach Ivan Cleary had spoken to outgoing assistant Barrett about refraining from attempting to poach any of Penrith’s emerging NRL talent.
“Ivan and Trent have spoken about doing the right thing and I’m confident we won’t have a problem there,” Fletcher said.

“We’ll be locking up all of our best young talent in the near future, all of those sorts of talks are already a fair way down the track.

“There’s no dramas there. The club’s headed in the right direction and the players want to be here because we’re winning.”

Since the departure of Phil Gould, the Panthers have set-up a recruitment and retention committee comprising coach Cleary, CEO Fletcher, deputy chairman Greg Alexander, Cameron Ciraldo, Peter Wallace, Dave O’Neill and head of recruitment Matt Cameron.

Seibold inherited a good Souths roster and the practises Maguire left behind. He was a breath of fresh air and didn't have to do much.
He had one good season and the media declared him the next supercoach.

There is always some excuse from Siebold about failure. The roster mightn't be perfect but they should be playing better than they are and should be higher up the ladder. A lot of rubbish teams ahead of them.
