I know it's only a trial, so it doesn't matter today at all (and getting practice in defending is just as valuable), but I think we better start getting used to the "Penrith not showing much in attack" commentary with Cleary at the helm. No offense to all the Cleary fans on here.

Playing conservative on purpose I think in the first half to work on defence. Few times kicking early and not attempting to find touch on the last to give George Jennings some catching practice

I think one issue in our attack is we lack an obvious speedster outside of Waqa - not long range but acceleration. I'm hoping that we are just hiding all our special secret attacking weapons since we play Parra in Round 1 and don't want to give any hints but probably just wishful thinking. No Kikau is obviously showing but we haven't offloaded as a whole much anyway. Very solid effort in defence, good to see in a trial.

You do love a good Cleary dig. He’s played 40mins of footy, in trial, and your already death riding him.

We've barely been able to get out of our half. While we may not show much in attack if we did. We really havent had many opportunities.

Mixed bag that first half. Discipline sucked with penalties and handling, but ref seemed a bit whistle happy against us while not wanting to blow them against Parra. Penalties shouldnt be that lopsided. But they are and we held on pretty well. Reverse the tables I doubt Eels repel us that well.

We're also missing Mansour, DWZ and Kikau. Pretty crucial metre gainers for us. Not a pretty first half. Or one worth bragging about. But atleast we showed good attitude.

Hell we havent much to gain by throwing everything at them anyway. Its a double edged sword considering we face them round 1.

Edit

I say that and defence turns to shit. Lol.
