IC returns to us with an average record and given the way things went down, I’d expect to see changes in how we play sooner rather than later.

I don't rate Ivan but I don't rate the balance of our roster more. At some stage the players need to take some heat

I’d have liked us to jag some experience in the off season after losing Merrin but it wasn’t to be.

I’m hoping Grant and Sele have big years.

4 minutes to go, score 20-0, Katoa makes a break, Fisher Harris tackled just short. Parra all offside to the left, the lot of them. That's the way the ball went and it broke down. Should have been penalty/bin. The game was over but Atkins could not find it in his heart to give a penalty. He's not a first grade ref on that performance. I know it was only a trial but this shit happens in premiership matches too.

I notice also this is the only game that stats have not been posted up on NRL site. Maybe they are embarrassed.

Phillips and Crighton were better choices defensively. I hope Sivo all the best at Parra provided they have worked on his positioning.

And it also takes about 2 to 4 weeks in the competition proper for teams to hit their playing prime.

If the Panthers have a good first month, it will pave the way for a great season.

The NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg sides recorded spirited victories in hard fought contests.

Our NSW Cup side were walking wounded with five players sustaining head knocks in the first 25 mintues or so having the leave the field. Some were able to return after being stitched up including Jed Cartwright.

I think our Flegg side will give a good account of themselves this season. They look to have some quality players and beat a pretty good Eels side. Spencer Leniu was the standout for mine he is definitely an NRL player in a couple of years, if not sooner.
