Keen to see the likes of Moses Suli, Ben Hunt, Blake Lawrie sprucing renewable energy. Put em next to a windmill & you're all set. Also lowkey surprised how the Dragons haven't managed to cock this up yet...
From my reading in the last day, the Port Kembla facility is marked as “firming”. Which I (mis?) understand to be a gas facility to fill in the gaps in the renewable supply.
I had heard months? Years? ago that Twiggy was looking to put a hydrogen plant there.

So I’m unsure except that it’s unlikely to be windmills and solar there, although Squadron has wind and solar farms elsewhere.

I am super pleased with this change of fortunes and hope it leads to a long term relationship and growing interest from Twiggy in the Dragons.

Twiggy has pledged to give away around 90% of his fortune during his lifetime.. so he's not a tighta$$, I'm expecting some generosity along the way (not just in dollar terms, as much his words & his business contacts etc), but right now hes just a sponsor.. but the opportunity to buy WIN out would be a game changer.. and its not out of the question now that we are working together.

The thing is though, Twiggy's new renewable energy company is his #1 focus, we're talking about the future of energy worldwide.. literally trying to get hydrogen going worldwide.. thats as big a goal as you get.... plus he has a lot of side-projects, so he's not like Russell Crowe coming in to get hands-on with the players, club staff etc.. but still.. its a bluddy good starting point.. and certainly an awful lot better than the dark depression we were in a week ago.. I do hope they announce it publically soon however :p

Even if this is true (which I doubt), to quote Teddy Roosevelt: "No amount of charity in spending such fortunes can compensate in any way for the misconduct in acquiring them."

I also question his motives when it comes to his green ambitions...

Anywho... as long as the Dragons get that sweet sponsorship bread who cares really.

Does it really matter, its a business deal. We were sponsored by SGB who are now owned by Westpac, Being a corporate bank do you think they have the best interests of the people that utilise them, they are a profit organisation, just like every other sponsor associated with any team sport.

Exactly. Not in a million years would I care if a business makes a fortune because the guy and his family who started it took risks and gambled on so many things to make their fortune and just like all businesses they give and take.

In our case we should not bite the hand that feeds us.

100% Dave, we either accept what we have and embrace the fact we have, or we question every motive to do with his companies. I'm sure that if it is proven that he has done the wrong thing , then he will be duly punished. Are we going to question BHP, Telstra etc, this is corporate sponsorship and I wouldnt expect anything less that they are in it for themselves as well.

Just listening to Chammas today.. he said he had the Twiggy sponsorship story ready to print 5 weeks ago.. but the club asking him to hold off till it was finalised.

The club then rang him saturday to say that it still wasnt finalised but other parties were now aware, so feel free to run it first for doing the right thing by us. So still not finalised, but it must be close..

The longer we wait for the press conference, the more I worry we will ultimately be disappointed.

If true, Twiggy would change the perception that the club is in serious decline.
Some times it doesn't take much for any person or business to change tack at the last moment and pull out of a deal and they have the right to do so if nothing is signed, sealed and registered. Even then, if one of the conditions are not met at any time, bang, all gone.

Both parties could be after guarantees that a couple of them are needing hard negotiations to settle.

We as Dragons fans know disappointment like no other but I am sure that this deal with Twiggy will be a goer.

I find it highly unlikely that this deal wont go through, considering it has been leaked to the media and public if there was nothing in it you would have seen either Twiggy or one of his reps saying nothing has been done its just crap. But stranger things have happened I suppose.

LOL, gotta laugh at some Saints fans.

Been battling for spoon in recent times, have had off field issues enough to give lawyers early retirement, we lose a major sponsor ( whom happens to be a bank ), yet we suddenly find our moral compass when a new sponsor is a billionaire ( propped up by major banks ).

Oh when the Saints !!!
