Section 9 Good Behaviour Bonds may have specific conditions attached to them and if these are breached the Good Behaviour Bond could be revoked and either a custodial jail term/ intensive correction order or home detention order imposed instead. If there was a condition about not discussing the court case or the court decision in any way shape or form then he would be in breach of the GB Bond.
I didn’t realise that Drake was ‘singing’ about May’s court case specifically in this song; obviously a huge May fan.
Of course (and more often than not) in sex crime cases there are specific provisions against mentioning the victim in any form of media; that is of course vitally important protection to people who have been wronged. But this is not that.
As much as some people on here would like it to be so, the law isn’t there to ‘muzzle’ offenders who have done their time. They have the same rights as everyone else in society, be that to quote bad songs or express their feelings on social media. Of course, if he commits a real crime he would have the book thrown at him (and rightfully so), but as much as people don’t agree with what he wrote and it affronts them, it is not a crime.
I’m also a bit afraid that this is classified as bringing the game into disrepute; I’m worried that the shrieking heads in the ‘media’ get to read a post and decide if it is outrageous or not. That to me is scary.
