There are only two teams with a realistic chance of winning La Liga, and there will likely only ever be two teams with a realistic chance of winning La Liga. Any other team winning it would be a one-off Blackburn style triumph. Fake Madrid and Barcelona simply have too much of an advantage, much like Celtic and Rangers in Scotland. The EPL has 6 teams that could realistically hope to win the league: United, Citeh, Lolerpool, Arsenlol, Chel$ki, and Tottenham.

Yeah, and when was the last time City, Spurs and Liverpool won the league? It's been a while since Arsenal did too. Chelsea are falling to pieces and an admittedly weak ManUnited team has been dominating the league in recent years.
The only team that looks like maybe snatching the title from United this season is City, and they still look like they won't.

Also, to say La Liga will always be dominated by two teams is an unrealistic expectation. Real Madrid and Barcelona are statistically I believe the most successful football teams in the world, but there have been quite a few titles that went the way of lesser fancied teams.
It's also funny because realistically, only City and United can conquer the EPL.
Do you seriously think that with City's money and United's consistency that any of the other four teams are truly capable of winning the league? They might have more chance than the other La Liga teams do but it isn't by much.

Also, when you consider the current Barcelona team, seen by many as the best football team ever seen, play in that league alongside the richest club in the world, it's hard to think but correct that other teams have a chance; both Madrid and Barcelona can't keep it up forever.

This! Levante lead La Liga this season, doesnt mean they are going to win it, same as City. Spurs are like Fiorentina in the 90s, will mix it with the best but won't win it.

The fact that a very ordinary Man U are leading the league says it all about how Spurs and City are doing so well this year.

Every league is like this though. The only main league that can claim to be a little even is Bundesliga, but even then there are the mainstays like Bayern and Dortmund. Its just the way football is these days.

A lot of Anglophiles on this forum can't seem to accept that the PL is no longer the dominant league it once was. It's predictable and it has become too dependent on foreign ownership.

Sure, La Liga is a two-horse race but so too is the PL this season and this won't change in the future. City's astronomical wealth will probably result in it becoming a one-horse race. But this lack of competition for the title isn't new. Let's not forget that there have only been 4 PL champions in 20 seasons. Contrast this to other major European Leagues like Germany where there have been 5 different champions in the last 8 years. France is also about to see its fifth different champion in 5 consecutive seasons.

It's not just the title race where the PL has become stale and predictable but also in the race for Europe. Consider this season. In Spain up to 13 teams still have a chance of making the UCL. Only 12 points separate Malaga in 4th and Granada in 16th. Conversely, there's currently a 10 point gap between Arsenal in 4th and Liverpool in 7th.

Relegation races are also far more fascinating on the continent than in England. Last season only 5 teams in the PL faced the possibility of relegation on the last Sunday, whereas in Spain going into the last round the team in 11th place (can't remember which exactly) could still have been relegated.

Only 4 teams have EVER won the reformed EP£ and one was bought  Man U are on track for what, three in a row? 6 of the last 7? You wanna talk about only two teams can win La Liga when Man U & Chelsea have won every EP£ title since 04/05

All this Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Norwich can win the title is total bullshit

Liverpool and Arsenal have always been and will always be contenders. The fact their form this seaosn has been shithouse and neither has won for a while is irrelevant.

If they are contenders then La Liga has five more contenders than the EPL does.

I'm happy to admit I watch more EPL than La Liga, if only because La Liga is played far too late for me.
Watching games between "minnows" is far more entertaining than most EPL games I've seen, a league I've been watching regularly for a few years now.
La Liga's more tactical and fluid style of play is more rewarding for me, and that isn't because of Barcelona. Hell, the team leading the league and scoring the most goals is a stock Mourinho team but they provide classic counter-attacks and are vibrant in possession.

Yeah, the fact that Liverpool haven't even made the CL the past few years eliminates them as contender and the fact that Arsenal have to qualify for the CL every year removes their tithe aspirations

Title contenders who finish 20+ points off Man U eh?

I hope we draw Chelsea!

I bloody hope not. UEFA will be straight on the phone to Ovrebo. Anyway, Barca are a far better side then Chelsea, however there is no doubt we can match them over 2 legs with huge stakes on the line. Barca have never had it easy against Chelsea. In their 8 clashes with Chelsea they have just 2 wins. In both those games Chelsea were reduced to 10 men.

Barca would go in big favourites but that would be a tough draw for them. Chelsea play them well.

The fact that Liverpool can easily finish 6th in the league is a sign its a weak league?

Good logic.

Oh no wait there, its total garbage. Still you get a bonus point for consistency.

Dependant? Explain please.

If its so boring and predictable..

Who is going to win the league?
Who will finish top 4?
Who will get relegated?

I hope all your knees are ok from the major jerking they have been doing.

Coooooome on.

Both sides are A LOT different from what they were last time they played.

Chelsea would get raped by Barca.

Bayern/Barca final for me. And in a one-off game AT HOME, Munchen have every chance of winning.

This year they are a wonderful team in that league which is loads better than the prem.

No-one said Ligue 1 was better in quality than the PL. But it's far more unpredictable. You can't argue with 5 different champions in 5 seasons. No league in the world can boast that variety.

And Marseille are shit this year anyway. But still better in Europe than Man U.
