I'm pretty sure from memory that he fell back into the goal as the ball went past him as well, or at least had some part of him over the line at that time.

I had no issue with that goal when I saw it.

That picture above shows Santana standing there and the goalie behind him diving backwards but still higher up the pitch. When Santana got the ball there was only one player between himself and the goal line.

That is offside.

There has to be two players between yourself and the goal line or you are offside. Usually one of these players is the goalie. In this case the goalie had come out and Santana was nearer the goal line than him so that only left one player between Santana and the goal so he was offside.

Don't get the 'UEFA wants a Clasico final' conspiracy. Surely 2 matches are better than 1 for ratings?

I reckon if it's Barca/Bayern and Madrid/BVB then the likelihood of an all BL final is increased. But if it's Barca/BVB and Madrid/Bayern then a Clasico final is more likely.

Also if it ends up being an all BL semi and an all La Liga semi then Dortmund and Madrid will get through. Despite losing their last game to Bayern, BVB have a psychological edge over Bayern. Ditto Madrid.
