i have a bad feeling about this...
i really hope I'm wrong...
The fact that there's apparently only 1 gunmen, is the only thing that gives me hope.

Good to see b-dos has already blamed "the left" for this incident

Aaaaaaand all the moderate muslims facepalm.
Yep, the types with a "Cronulla riots" mentality are already frothing at the mouth, just waiting for the usual media suspects to start egging their hatred on... .
Does the idiot behind this not realise he's only making it worse for the people he purports to represent?
And this is why Australia shouldn't just allow anyone into this country. God knows how many like minded idiots entered the country under labors let everyone in policy.
These people should be heavily screened prior to entering my country and deported within 24 hours if they commit an offence.
The more we allow these Islamic extremists to live and preach their hate in Australia, the more we will see scenes like this.
Except he wasn't an Islamic extremist, even... Just a deranged fool who lost a sexual assault court case and was looking to face time so decided to take people down with him.
something tells me his thoughts may not have been that level-headed..
maybe it was the gun, the hostages or the whole siege thing, but something tells me he wasn't quite thinking rationally..
Lol, he is most definitely an Islamic extremist. It is stupid to debate otherwise. Deranged fool, yes.
What pisses me off is how magistrates are never held accountable for their f**k ups and answer to no one. This murderer should never have been let out on bail.
Long-running battle
Monis recently likened himself on his own webpage to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, claiming the most recent charges against him have been laid for "political reasons".
His website also carries a quote, posted earlier this month stating: "I used to be a Rafidi, but not any more. Now I am a Muslim, Alhamdu Lillah".
It has been Monis' on-going legal battle for his conviction for penning the poisonous letters to the families of dead Australian soldiers between 2007 and 2009 that has consumed him.
It is understood Monday's incident followed an unsuccessful, last-ditch attempt in the High Court on Friday to have the charges overturned.
Hello firkers, it's real nice to see you guys again. I am now home from hospital, hopefully for a very long time. I am home minus some toes and various bits of feet. I also bring home lots of extremely unpleasant pain and nowhere near enough pain killers.
Still, my problems are small, compared to those involved in that unbelievable siege in Martin Place yesterday. Why, an individual like that was still allowed to walk the streets as a free person is completely beyond me. My thoughts and prayers are with
all of those involved. Many folks will never be the same again, some have lost loved ones. Repercussions should be swift and final.
